I've seen a thread around here about old computer equipment. Why not stereo gear? Maybe because lots of people don't have stereos anymore? Quiet, you. That's precisely the point.
Naturally, I'll start. Not too long ago, I acquired a reel-to-reel tape deck. I used to have another one years ago. Not sure what came of it. My first wife probably sold it for a stupidly low price like $40 in the firesale that was our divorce. When I got the new one, it was a bit like an old friend stepping back into my life.
Without further ado, the Akai 4000DS…
Ridiculously, the tape in that photo was recorded from digital, and the deck itself is hooked up to Bluetooth speakers.
So, we have our fair share of old timers around here. While clearly inferior to an open-reel tape deck, some of you must have old turntables.
