@OnlySP 20 minutes of gameplay from Backer Build 4 for Phoenix Point.

In addition to the new map, the footage also shows a new artillery enemy type. The creature shown has four legs and a large pod-like body which acts as a mortar, but with Phoenix Point's mutation system this same creature could have a multitude of different abilities. These mutations include different legs, therefore changing the creature's mobility and weapon types, creating a welcome sense of variety to the combat. For example, the artillery fired by this crab monster is a gooey substance that prevents player characters from moving while another, similar creature may have an explosive based

Looks great. Happy I will be able to play it one day, because it is not on STEAM.

Thanks to share with us how you choose your games. It looks like a very clever process.

It actually makes sense....if you already have the majority of your games on one service you don't really want to go onto another....that's my main reason for not using it. I don't want another front end. It's a pain in the ass.

The same thing is happening with streaming services...this all going to bite them in the ass in the long run, people want choices, but they also don't want to use a bunch of different utilities to see their content.

Well if you are talking about someone who has got all of his games on one portal which exists since 5 or 10 years or + I would have said nothing.

But his choice seemed to be made like "Cool a game is not on Steam I can play that one!". Epic is a new service which does not seem to be better in any way than Steam.

I made my point about STEAM about 10 years ago and nothing has changed, except for the fact that these mofos exploit their market domination until the last drop.

I never supportet them in the past and won't do so in the future. I have zilch games bought on STEAM, no client installed, never registered.

Epic's client is worse? No, it's not because they treat publishers better, give away great games regularly and still improve their client. Does STEAM do anything of that? No? Thought so.

BTW: Up to now I didn't spent a dime at Epic, but if sth like Phoenix Point comes along I could, because I don't boycott underdogs.

Hey, by the time this one makes its way to great old games or steam, most of the bugs will likely have been squashed. If it never makes it to other platforms, well, then I get to keep my money. Either way, it works for me.

Fine, fine. Sorry if I sounded more harsh than I intented. it was more a small jab than anything.

I agree Epic is improving its client and probably it is not even due to the fact than they are at the level Steam was 10 years ago. And sure Epic and Tencent, the guys who invented the "copy is not evil" are big big friends of publishers. They are certainly not here for the money. Oh no. Not them.

Wow. Irony. Don't read that much on the internet these days.

Of course they are in it for the money - they have to be different in various forms if they want mine. We will see, but they surely can't be worse than STEAM.

Again, a thread about one game ends up becoming a thread about Steam Client vs Epic Games Launcher.

Thank you for bringing us some good news about Phoenix Point @Silver;, and no, I am not being ironic/sarcastic here. I really congratulate you. It's just people derailing threads once again…

EDIT: I just noticed this is my 2,000th post here. And I'm glad it happened on a thread about a game I'm eager to play :)

Who actually derailed the thread? Whenever someone does NOT derail any thread about sth on Epic he is assaulted by the 'Defenders of STEAM' alliance for not bashing Epic.

I, for one, just wrote about how I am satisfied with the state fo Phoenix Point and the ability to play it one day. What's wrong about that?

This guy is right. To go his way I propose we scold vehemently the first post mentionning Steam or Epic who started that.

I am not a defender of Steam or whatever, I got an Epic and I will play this game. But I will play it because I like that kind of game not because I hate something else.

The product is streamed. There is nothing special in 20 minutes of gameplay when hours are available.

Yes, it will be on platform that is worse than Steam. Have fun with it.

This store has a lot to do to catch up with Steam. Artifact produced by valve has been rejected by players up to the point that the related twitch section is dedicated to any stream that is not related to that product. It is now an activity to stream under the artifact twitch section anime, french movies, gay porn...
