Even if the port was perfect, I wouldn't recommend the game if you don't love grinding.

It has been a while since I played the game but I don't recall the main campaign having a lot of grinding. Most of the grinding was for the optional content.

From what I remember, I was mostly following the storyline, and the difference in levels between my party and the storyline battle monsters kept getting bigger and bigger, until at some point I was doing like 5 damage to them and they were doing 325 damage to me (and my characters had like 500 hit points, my mages were insta-killed).
