Phoenix Point - Epic Store Deal

Another golden thread. No words on gameplay, all words on financial topics despite crowdfunding leaning.

At what point is this considered anti-competitive practice? Epic can throw gobs of money at this endeavor, because of their success selling other games like Fortnite. So they are branching into a new business (retail re-sale) and potentially operating at a loss, subsidizing it with money from a different business (game development).

As if Steam could not throw gobs of money, as if crowdfunding was not a risk of subsidizing fruitlessly.

Anti competitive. What next: a dev releasing his product through her own channel of distribution and not Steam, a sports club paying bigger signing fee and salary to secure a player's hiring.

Devs are customers to distribution platforms. This platform offers a better cut and accept to guarantee the risk of public backlash following the exclusivity.

Devs are the first to want an exclusivity on this platform because it means more money for them through a lesser cut.
Devs want to achieve the bulk of their sales on this platform. It means more money for them.

There is nothing anticompetitive in this. Devs have several options on the table, they select the one that fits them the most.

Players, especially crowdfunding fans, display anti competitive behaviour.

The more money to the devs, the better the product, crowdfunding mantra.

Yet when facing the situation of a co release on Steam and this platform, players are not going to go on this platform, even though it means more money for devs.
They will stick with Steam and reject competition, even though it works along their mantra.

According to crowdfunding fans, there should be no windshield, no risk to assume because players would go for the option that put most money in devs'pockets.
They wont so a risk must be covered.

So double standards once again love how that works.

Let me put it the English way, "What's good for the goose is good for the gander."

Double standard people, due to their double standard, are unable of distinguishing the goose from the gander.
