The Good Life set to release on October 15

Playism and White Owls have announced that 'debt-repayment' RPG The Good Life will release on October 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).

The Good Life is a game by Swery (Deadly Premonition, D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, The Missing), and involves paying off a debt and solving a murder mystery in a town where the inhabitants turn into cats and dogs at night.

The release date trailer can be found below. For more on the game, you can check out more than 150 screenshots.

The Good Life is a captivating adventure game in which you play as Naomi, a New York-based photographer who has just arrived in the small British town of Rainy Woods with a specific job at hand - to discover the truth behind this place known as the "happiest town in the world". Race against the clock tracing multiple leads and solve mysteries as a human, a cat, or a dog! Getting to the bottom of this mystery will require you to cook, eat, sleep, shop, farm, and explore the town, taking on photography jobs and other more "unconventional" quests.

Uncover the truth about Rainy Woods - the small, boring town that Naomi refers to as "Hell on Earth"

  • Explore the vast and sprawling town of Rainy Woods
  • Take photos to repay your debt
  • Unlock and try out new recipes
  • Plant, grow and harvest your own crops
  • Discover new clothing and other items
  • Save up money and renovate your house and garden(!)
  • Investigate a murder while riding a sheep(?!)
More information.

Well, the only game by "Swery" I've played is "Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut" and I loved the weirdness and quirky characters in that one, so this one goes on my wishlist.

Looks as if done by Telltale (Sam & Max, Guybrush Threepwood) ... Looks interesting enough for me.

A new SWERY game? Might be some weird shit I'll totally end up loving. The town's name Rainy Woods was also the original intended title for Deadly Premonition
