GOG - Pick 5 Games for $10

Your'e talking about simulation, which is something that certainly appeals to many, but is not what people consider gameplay. Gameplay refers to interactions towards achieving an objective (like winning) not more passive visuals. Quality of graphics can have a huge effect on the quality of a simulation and a game in general and the Skyrimish immershun factor, but that's not gameplay.

Ask any specialist of children and they'll explain you in abundance of details that gaming isn't at all what you are saying.

When a boy plays with puppets (yeah yeah girl is more traditional but I'm trying to break the macho tag that some pervert members of the forum try glue on me) there's no idea of objective and it's totally pure gaming… and funnily it's quite linked to simulation that you oppose to gameplay.

For sure you have a clear idea of what gameplay means but no way it means you are right and see all the facets. At least that's my point of view.

EDIT: Possibly a part of confusion is coming from language and making me look at gameplay in a wrong way. The point is gameplay isn't a word with a translation in my language and game means "jeu" in my language and "jeu" means much more than what you restrict gameplay to, but perhaps game has a more limited signification than "Jeu" in my language.

Playing with puppets is not gameplay. It's making pretend. Different thing. You can't just call everything gameplay. Well you can but it's not what we mean here. And you won't make much sense to the rest of us.

Yeah, Jeu is a much more general word than what we mean by gameplay. Play is closer to Jeu, so I can see the confusion since the word play is in gameplay. Fair enough? The compound word gameplay is actually is a subset of play.
