C2077 Cyberpunk 2077 - News Roundup

Cyberpunk 2077
what i meant, separate teams working on two games at the same time.. it was kind of a big thing for these last two AC games.. nothing wrong with that practice, shows they have tons of confident in the product if so. might also be good practice sharing assets and knowledge between projects and whatnot.. cuts down on the dev time for follow-up a ton..

China lifted the ban of consoles 4 years ago so its not relevant to anything. China is an extremely racist country, so them calling poles donkeys is of course just normal practice for them, but strange to our culture.

That's probably some kind of small-er spine off, I don't see how they could pull it off. Iwinski also talked about how they want to do something similar to Rockstar: one large project at a time, go "all-in".
As long as they keep working on SP DLC/expansions, don't really give a damn what they do with multiplayer.

Also music from trailer

Sounds..interesting. Very intense, "heavy". What type of music is this?

"The third project is another great AAA game in the Cyberpunk universe" so no, nothing like Gwent i guess..

As for the music, rather generic industrial imo :) Check out Frontline Assembly or perhaps Nine inch nails.

Tactical Neural Implant by Fronline Assembly is my personal favorite cyberpunk themed album.

They had it all, the looks, the attitude, and the music. They subverted commercialism by using corporations and advertising to serve their image and music. The combination of punk attitude, technology, and style, are everything that defines cyberpunk.

haha, they were fun, certainly had the right looks at least.

Perhaps their greatest hit is "Love Missile F1-11" but their song I like most is the one below:

Something more clarified on how leveling/skills work.

So it's similar to TES/increase by use...buuut: it doesn't increase your character level ( which gives you perks). And it's gated by stats, for specific skill...as example, you need high reflex stat to have high skill gunplay.
And your animations, as mentioned, automatically improve.
Seems like a good solution to typical issues with this system.
Also mentioned possibility of importing your own music in game( radio station?).

This is really good, probably the first thing i'm gonna ""mod"" then.

Wonder how the music works, if you can listen to it at any time or only in a vehicle, which wouldnt really make too much sense. We can even today listen to music and people around us will hardly notice we're wearing a tiny wireless earplug. On the other hand there's probably atmospheric ambient music and possibly combat music etc, hmm..

Can I just link any Tune In station and leave it at that?

EDIT:
https://www.vg247.com/2019/07/09/cyberpunk-2077-treating-ps4-xbox-one-as-first-class-platforms/
“We’re targeting consoles as first class platforms and it looks amazing there,” he said. “So obviously, if you spent, you know, $2,000 building your PC rig, it’s going to look better on that. But the graphics are quite amazing for what you’re going to get from Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles and low-end PCs.”

Liu added that it wasn’t a challenge to get the game to run on consoles and low-end PCs thanks to the Red Engine’s custom nature.
So there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping for CP 2077. But why emitting this kind of "dubious signal" when it comes to define, to describe your own game?

Nothing more than hype building by creating buzz if you ask me.

I've already posted that I'm socializing with people in RL and quite a few acquaintances are into videogames. It could happen some of them see the "nonrpg" description and bring it up over a coffee or a beer as a start of discussion. ;)

Chatty sells.
Didn't sell consoles to me though. No, not because my mushrooms allergy. It was boring. :D

https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-quest-director-would-like-meryl-streep-to-be-in-it/

Cyberpunk 2077 quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz was being interviewed by GAMEin the UK when he was asked, if he could pick any other star to appear in the game, who it would be. His response? "Oh my god, this is difficult. Ah, there’s so many great actors I love… Like, I love Meryl Streep, for example. I love Devil Wears Prada, and it would be great to have her as one of the characters in the game."

Elaborating on what kind of role Streep would play in Night City, he went on to say, "She could be totally one of the big corporate characters in the game. I can picture this."

Who knows ;)

Some new info

Since the E3 demo included parts of the environment, which could be manipulated via a hack (training bot, vending machine, weight training bench), we asked Miles if this would be the case in other parts of the game world, too. We wanted to know if we could cause some chaos on the streets of Night City and e.g. hack telephones, billboards or an ATM.

Miles replied:

"Yes, indeed!...Such possibilities for every playstyle in every location are important to us in level design and it goes beyond quests, because the same hardware works in the open world, as well.

All the features of this robot are systematic, which means we could use them in other quests, too. We want to give you the tools to play in creative ways."

Because of the Blackwall the Net is not as accessible as it was before, so you need to gain access to smaller subnetworks instead.

Continuing with the example of the ATM, Tost went on saying:

"So if you want to hack an ATM, you first have to find the access point, which controls this machine. Certain hardware can be instantly hacked, but when it's connected to a network, you have to gain control over the network first."

Sometimes detective work is needed to find that access point. When talking about the surveillance camera in the E3 demo, Miles said that after a scan a connecting line leads to the camera's access point, which could be hidden behind a cupboard and needs to be cleared first.

We already learned that the hacking minigame grants control over a network and time slows down during it. The Senior Level Designer told us that usually you got all the time you need during a hack unless a certain time limit/countdown is added to increase difficulty.

"The fantasy behind this is that in the game world everything happens in a split second.

...To us quickhacking means hacking things from a distance, after you gained control over the hostile network"

After the hacking minigame was succesful, you can scan objects from a distance and look for (quick-)hacking options. For example you can turn a camera from hostile to friendly or switch it off. You can even take control over the camera and look around with it.

To perform a hack, you need to consume certain points. Let's say it costs one point to gain access to the camera, but more points to put it into friendly mode.

There is yet no final/fixed name for these "points". In our interview we jokingly suggested "Hacker mana".

Miles Tost explained it a bit further:

"The more powerful your Cyberdeck is, the more 'hacker mana' is available to you. I think we call it 'memory' for now, but that could change the week after.

So when you walk through the world as a Solo, you may not even use a Cyberdeck at all. Thus, you can't hack at all or just do basic hacks, because your skill won't allow it."

Since we were a bit disappointed by the fact that in the E3 demo all hacks of the enemies were lethal, we asked if there will be a wider selection of non-lethal hacks (let's say "Glue" from 2020) in the game.

"We actually have non-lethal hacks. Last year we showed, how you can jam the weapons, since the enemies got a Cyberlink, which links them to their guns and which gets blocked by a virus then.

That's when the Cyberdeck comes into play again: All these manipulations like 'enemy shoots himself in the head', 'enemy fires his own grenade' are software, so called Daemons, which you slot into your Cyberdeck.

According to the power of your Cyberdeck, you can install up to four of them (which could change during development, of course). You can use this software after you hacked the enemies or more precisely their network."

Miles continued with the possibilities and challenges of the Daemons:

"So that's a great strategic decision: You need to think about what kind of software you take to a mission, because you can't change it on the fly.

Personally I think that's pretty cool, because it fits to the fantasy of a hacker. You do your own preparations before heading out for a job and it's just like choosing the right weapons to take with you. Maybe they are your backup-plan if something goes wrong so you need to throw a grenade or you just want to be stealthy."

Some merchants will offer unique items and discounts only for a specified period of time or at specific times.
You can buy various clothes like long jackets, sneakers, t-shirts, …
Example of programs that a netrunnet can buy: a program to disable cybernetic eyes or another to block a cybernetic member
As you advance your hacking skills, the options will expand from a simple door opening to controlling cameras or turrets and more.
Mini-games related to hacking will be different depending on the installation you hack.
Bots can also hack at a distance
Increases are performed only from a specialist but minor changes will be possible by ourselves such as improving our mantis blade by adding poison
You can increase your skills by finding a trainer or by installing certain implants
The scarcity of objects corresponds to its availability rate in stores. The more rare an object is, the more street cred will it take for a seller to offer it to us
Street Cred will also increase the quality of buyable components for crafting
They have changed the way to show the damage compared to the 2018 demo and try several methods to indicate the damage taken by the opponent without flooding the screen with numbers (the numbers are still there but in smaller quantities) like adding special animations
The inventory will be limited according to the weight that can be transported
When V uses a glass bottle to shatter it on the skull of an opponent, this results in a bloody visual effect and the shard of the bottle is still usable for impaling it in the body of an opponent
Example of interactive discussion between V and Placide in the demo: during the conversation, a henchman enters the room with a message. If V looks at this character, new dialog options appear to interact with him that, according to the devs, will have an impact on the conversation with Placid if used.
When Placide forces V to connect to the network to be monitored during his mission, an interruption is possible if we have Street Kid because only a child of the street knows the way gangs work.
More details about the boss fight with Sasquatch: The fight takes place in a small room with interactive objects. The boss can use these items to prevent us from reaching his back. It is possible to avoid the fight
Each attribute and skill goes up to level 10. There are 60 perks too (5 per skill) and each perks has 5 levels of progression
You can combine skills with doping products like the slow motion effect during a hacking to have more time. This was used during a fight against an Animals in order to have time to hack him
In the demo, V is level 18 with a street cred level 12. Brigitte is level 45 and was the highest level NPC met in the demo.
If you take a driver out of his car to rob him and there is a gang or the police around, a violent response will be felt
When you want to pause the main quest, there will be a lot of side quests available. On top of that, there will be many events happening across the city and how to interfere with it can lead to a quest. In addition to that, Night City brings together many activities. Unlike The Witcher 3, there will not be a classic quest table to tell us what to do when doing it. However, optical improvements will make it possible to simulate through the augmented reality the highlighting of certain points in the environment.
Braindance is an important part of simulating someone’s memories.
Everyone will not be increased in the same way. The richest will have increases that only they can have. Others will not want improvement by religious conviction. The idea is not to create a homogeneous but very different population
Cyberpsychose is present in the game. Our character can not reach it but through quests or scripted events, we can see the damage to the improvements on the psyche.
Religions are still very present in Night City. Our vision of Cyberpunk is not to describe an alternative world but a continuity of our world. Some things will look like our current reality. For example, Christianity is present in the game and will even have a faction.
“The journalist says that the presence of religion is likely to create a scandal”, which CDP respond with: “We will not avoid any subject, even if they may offend the sensitivity of some. We are not here to say whether it is good or bad.”
With Cyberpunk, CDP has also exacerbated community membership as a way for people to protect themselves from danger and poverty.
The type of your character will be at your convenience. You will not necessarily choose strictly a man or a woman. One can have a male body with feminine attributes, a feminine voice and feminine hair. The type of voice will impact how NPCs will perceive us.

The new game demo was shown to polish media with some new features revealed.
The list of details was translated and posted on neogaf and I can't say I love everything (merchants sound like yet another timed atrocity like Pathfinder timers that will need modders to fix it):
https://www.neogaf.com/threads/cybe...e-polish-press-with-many-new-details.1492741/

- We can start a conversation with an NPC without leaving our bike or car. It works like a classic dynamic conversation.

- Some merchants will offer unique items and discounts only for a specified period of time or at specific times.

- You can buy various clothes like long jackets, sneakers, t-shirts, …

- Example of programs that a netrunnet can buy: a program to disable cybernetic eyes or another to block a cybernetic member

I hope you can also disable the above from showing.
