Dying Light 2 - First Look & Developer Interview

Developing their own engines seems to pay off for the Polish developers. Makes me wonder why more won't do it besides the obvious cost in time and money.

They abandoned both Hellraid and Dead Island 2 to focus only on Dying Light.

To much time and wasted effort to create your engine when it's easier to license one.

Eh? What about that open world FP fantasy rpg? Dying Light is good, but I'm sick of zombies ( or elves...or elven zombies) at this point.
