Help please

Hi, i just started to play, after playing some time i came in harbor town, i tryed to do the mage quest but could not complete it beacuse Josh wouldn't acspept my potion i tryed to give him, he just say: "you stole one time, how could i trust you now?" and "try not to speak" i stole just one thing, and now the game is f*cked up and a can complete that quest? help me plz and tell me how i can be friend again with this josh, so i can get true the game.
