Looks like I really don't care about most of those games.

So lets see maybe three or four might interest me.

  1. Graywalkers: Purgatory
  2. Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game
  3. Archmage Rises
Two of those have very slow development and Colony Ship is still at least two years off.

A few of them look like they could be fun.. Wasteland 3 I'll check, Stoneshard too, possibly, though that's a turn-based rogue-like ala Dungeons of Dredmor and not really a "tactical combat game". That said, the standard has dropped so far down. When I think turn based combat games, I think of a wide range of genre-defining games: X-Com, Vandal Hearts, FF Tactics, Ogre Tactics... all the way to DOS:2.

Now I see a list of what.. 50 "turn-based strategy" games released in 2020 alone, and each of them feels bland and generic, each with a random visual style or flair that doesn't feel attractive in any way. It may be my own problem, but I can't help to feel that way.

Thanks for posting! I missed the first two videos when they hit the news cycle. But I just watched all five videos and added 10 new games to my “watch” list!

Those are the ones I'm definitely interested in but I think Gamedec and Tainted Grail look potentially good as well. I need more information to go on though.

What a huge steaming pile of depressingly, crappy graphics, depressing stories, for a depressed society. Makes me want to tweak Freedom Force to run again. I’m always a couple years behind anyway. As far as TB, I'm hoping 2020 brings serious price drops on Age of Wonders: Planetfall, Fantasy General II, and Civ 6: Gathering Storm.
