Because it doesn't look good publically (after recent layoffs in australian studio responsible for phone sims games that earned EA millions), as damage control some EA rep issued a statement for Kotaku that they're actively looking for a solution to keep all those 350 on different jobs within the company. Yeah right.

Yeah, it's mad that we've created a system with incentives like this. This kind of short-termism is hardly the way to run a good business, yet the CEOs are hired to keep that stock price nicely inflated.

A fresh case of chinese censorship in action when it comes to games (not videogame really but sourcebook):
https://kotaku.com/rpg-publisher-say…opy-1833590629
Sons of the Singularity, a small publisher of RPGs, ran a Kickstarter last year for a Call of Cthulu sourcebook, successfully raising over $20,000. Called The Sassoon Files, it was finally printed last week, only for the publisher to claim that the Chinese government then stepped in and burned every copy.
This is not the first nor last such case and we'll never know what exactly angered the China's censor. Ah well, from a society that had so called cultural revolution ages ago
many years will have to pass till they understand the art needs freedom of thought. Till then, we'll continue to see nazi burning books bullshit like this.

I'll never understand why peoiple want to exploit anyway. It's a human characteristic alien to me.

Yet it drives us into extinction. And our planet to explode.

Despite the immense and continuous support from our players, the sales for Starlink: Battle for Atlas fell below expectations.
Words by Ubisoft about some garbageware.
The comment on wccf sounds exactly what I'd say, but I assure you it's not me.

Expectations can be too high as well. Especially when they come from money-greedy persons. But no-one would say that. "Never admit a failure."

Former Valve dev: Steam was killing PC gaming, Epic is fixing it, 30% cut made Valve a lot of money
A ridiculous statement. Steam has nothing to do with EA shutting down PC games development studios for example. In fact Steam is partially responsible PC gaming isn't dead.
Sure, 30% "tax" is far too high and it needs to be lowered, but it's a separate thing.

Epic store won't fix anything in PC gaming - it's yet another store where microtransaction scams are allowed.

30% is too high but was a lot lower than the old system. Valve did a lot to improve pc gaming just by allowing developers to skip traditional publishers. I strongly suspect that if Epic gains a large foothold their rate will go (maybe not to 30% but definitely higher than the current price point).

How to Fix “This PC Can’t Be Upgraded” Issue When Installing Windows 10 May 2019 Update
Another one that doesn't sound like material for this thread, right?
Yea… It's here because of the reason why win10 refuses to update:
"this particular Windows 10 version has been facing issues with games that use anti-cheat software, the same is causing problems for the installation process too. One user updated on Reddit (via WR) that once you remove any such game, you can easily install Windows 10 May 2019 Update.".
