I have a problem with GOTHIC 2!

HEY ALL, I cant get gothic 2 to play on my pc, my pc is a 8gb quad-core amd with
vista 64 os, the game loaded good, but wont start-I just get an error message.
I have tried lots of stuff nothing seems to work, I even uninstalled it and
reinstalled.
I have played lots of other games on my pc, many of them older ones, without
problems, intell gothic 2.
any ideas?
any one ever have trouble with gothic 2?

I can't get it to run on my XP64 either. I think it doesn't like the 64 bit OS for some reason and I could never find a solution either here or over at WoG. I'd love to be able to replay it as well sometime.

Search the database in the WorldofGothic forums. You are certainly not the first with the Vista64 + Gothic 2 combination.

The solution, if there is one over at WoG, is likely to be in German, not English and sadly such a revelation would be beyond me. I had an obviously deprived childhood learning French instead of German!! :)

It's also quite probable somebody in their English forum had the problem before.

You have to use install scripts on Vista.
-> look here
Be sure to be Admin.
Activate the XP compatibility mode.

Doesn't help me with XP64, not that I could read or understand any of it!! :)

I couldnt understand the language either, I am on line when I try to play gothic 2
maybe that is keeping it from starting.

It shouldn't; I'm always 'online' and it has never affected any other game.

I have norton internet security 60 day free trial on my pc in action, I cant figure out
how to turn it off without uninstalling it.
task manager doesnt list it by name, nor is it actively running-probly just running in
the background.

You can translate the page with Yahoo Bablefish. Use the attched scripts to install the game.
