Universal Combat free download.

A free version of their space sim game Universal Combat has been released by 3000AD.

I have never played it myself, but it looks interesting. Anyone familiar with this game?

I do know 3000AD, but not this game.

3000AD has - if I remember corerectly - kind of an "infamous history" regarding the flight sim games.

given Battlecruiser 3000AD's reputation is it playable? but then it might endear to space-flight-sim fans..

I bought BC3000 back in the days when it was released. The game however was in a sorry state and was mostly unplayable. I waited for patches, but i had to return the game for a refund (that was glorious days when nobody asked why you returned a game you tried!)

I have followed the development of his games with some interest, me like colorful people, but i must say that this isn't a good game. I love space games and try out all of them i can find. It has never been to user friendly and all features are mostly over hyped. Altough i have no doubt in my mind that the features makes perfect sense to the creator. But it doesn't really talk to me as something i want to spend my money/time on.

Altough if its free and people can try it out by them selves.

Free is good? Or?

yes, that is very true.. just one example, Eidos booted Core Design after their failed Angel of Darkness and commissioned Crystal Dynamics to do the Tomb Raider franchise..

Ah, i guess everybody was as involved in the history as i was. For me, the evolution to Universal Combat is pretty clear. Sorry, will think more before i post.
