Images to inspire RPG locations
October 22nd, 2021, 21:14
One of the things I like to do is collect images that I find evocative, as inspiration for fantasy locations. I wonder if anyone has any good ones?
Here's an old colourised image of the ruins at Virginia Water.

I have seen many in photographs but don't have any saved. My collection of images on my computer are mainly screenshots I make and some general fantasy artwork. If I come across any though will try to remember to share here.

A couple more.
The Canyon Steps in Ecuador.

The inverted tower at Quinta de Regaleira.

I particularly like the winter scene. Love that winter sunlight.

Oh yes, I like the image with a tich of snow, that makes me want to strap on armor and a sword and get to exploring!!
And Ripper's inverted tower could be the perfect entrance to many an enticing haunt! Sign me up for that one. -)

Well, the inverted tower and the Canyon Steps look like they've materialized from an epic fantasy setting, they're really beautiful!

Puzzlewood, Forest of Dean. One of Tolkien's inspirations.

The Forest of Dean is unfortunate, as, for me, Dean is not an ancient name, but the bleach-blonde loudmouth that used to run the pub.
This one from the Isle of Skye.

Ahaha, that rift reminds me of the vehicle used to transport folks to the past in the telly show La Brea! Nice pictures, all of them. -)
