If you have more info about expected RPG releases (PC only) in 2018 please let us know.

Avernum III is also due out in 2018 - quarter 1 I think.

And Neverwinter Nights EE is 2018, but no exact release date yet.

Insomnia is still scheduled for 02/2018. But it will be delayed for sure.

According to their homepage Greedfall (Spiders) will be released in 2018 too.

Do you have a source for PoE2 being released in May? According to the Fig campaign it should be Q1 2018.

I thought Pathfinder: Kingmaker is expected to release in August 2018, not May 2018?

Star Control is an RPG?

Anyway, a lot of titles there I've never heard about.

No Truce With the Furies is expected in 2018; no specific release date yet (but most of the above list has very rough estimates anyway).

The Meridian Shard is very close to completion (see recent KS comments)

Vigilantes (which is in currently in Early Access) will probably get 1.0 release in 2018.

Toby's Island (looks like a good one if you like Stardew Valley) will probably release this year.

*Unless Shenmue 3 is drastically changing the gameplay compared to the previous games I wouldn't classify it as an RPG, even by the very broad definition of any game with stats that increase (Shenmue had none). It's an action / adventure game.

I didn't look at everything, but most of these "rpgs" had graphics from the 90's. If we remove the cartoon games, we have what half a dozen?

Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 2 is expected very soon (the port is almost finished).

For the third installment it's not known if it will appear on PC during this year.

Wow, the spring is looking more packed than I thought. Whew. I need to look into my schedule. Is Kingmaker and PoE2 really coming on the exact same date? That would be terrible timing.

The dates are often rough estimates.

I guess if modern graphics is your primary standard for defining RPGs, then basically the only upcoming RPGs are:

Ni no Kuni II was pushed back to March 23, 2018. It isn't strictly for PC, however.

Gotta say 2017 was a pretty lackluster year, I feel, for quality RPGs. I'm playing Sword Coast Legends (2015) and have the Witcher3 expansions on my backlog to get back to, eventually (2015-201).

I just can't do RPGMaker looking stuff. I did Borderlands and Torchlights, but I skip most of the "toony" look games. I like a realistic look for sure. Doesn't have to be great graphics, I played Stalker for instance. Thanks for your shortened list though. It saves quite some time.

So, maybe Rune and Conan Exiles for me. The rest just don't grab me. Fortunately, I have a hoard of survival games that are constantly getting new material so I'll have that stuff to fall back on.

Lots of horror rpgs (Vampyr, Call of Cthulu, Werewolf, Stygian) this year. That's something I like. Also excited about those old fashioned party rpgs (Bard's Tale, POE2, Pathfinder) I'm also looking forward to Arakion, S&S: Sovereign, Low Magic Age, Graywalkers, and Dungeons of Aledorn, though I'd be pleasantly surprised if any of those actually get finished. I'm also looking forward to Battletech, though I'm not sure how rpgish it will turn out.

Of that list, here are the ones I'm interested in:

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - I think this is my most anticipated rpg, with Pathfinder: Kingmaker in second position. (I do worry that there will be too much "kingdom building" elements in Kingmaker - and I generally don't enjoy that game mechanic, am only really interested in the rpg element)

Vampyr

Other games (non-rpgs) that I have on my wish list for 2018:

Metro: Exodus - A new game in the Metro game series.
Left Alive - A "survival shooter" that looks pretty interesting, in a sci fi type setting.

Post Script/Update -- Like crpgnut, generally I want modern graphics (but of course I love isometric rpg games, and those type of graphics are great in my book, such as POE 2 and Pathfinder: Kingmaker)

I don't know most of those games on the list, truth be told, even the ones that were said to have modern graphics. So I may be interested in some of them when more info comes out and rpg watch does coverage on some of them.

Neverwinter Nights: EE should be out this year, right?

I'm equally looking forward to

• Kingdom Come: Deliverance
• Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
• Pathfinder: Kingmaker

And with some distance

• Greedfall

I'm not really interested in the rest for various reasons (visuals, too actiony,...).
