If you still haven't bought or played Deus Ex: Human Revolution now is the perfect time. Steam is now offering the director's cut version for $4.99.

You play Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT specialist who's been handpicked to oversee the defensive needs of one of America's most experimental biotechnology firms. Your job is to safeguard company secrets, but when a black ops team breaks in and kills the very scientists you were hired to protect, everything you thought you knew about your job changes.
More information.

Funny fact is that this sale makes it more expensive for me to upgrade to the DC version than before the sale. At this point it is rather offensive that owners of the original doesn't get the DC upgrade for free

I would be pissed, if not the fact that the DC changes fail to convince me to play DX:HR again. But I have similar problem with Skyrim. It's cheaper to but the new complete version, than to upgrade my Skyrim I bought on release with DLC (even when skipping the Hearthfire).
What the hell, publishers? Surely, it makes sense to reward buying on release, rather than doing some impression of pointing fingers and singing 'Nanana, you were dumb not to wait'?
Am I missing something, or is waiting a year for heavily discounted and complete edition something that publishers want their customers to do?

Yea I think they really screw those who buy the games before the complete editions are available so in the future I just wait for the complete edition. I have enough games that I don't need to be an early adopter; though I might make an exception for m&m legacy.

Btw I asked steam about this issue (why I can't upgrade for 75% discount) (i.e, $1.25 instead of 5) and they said loyalty discount don't stack.

Awesome, I already owned the base game but that's a damn cheap upgrade. :)

Thanks darklord I was getting tired of the negative replies from the usual posters.

This sale is perfect for new players who have never played, or owned the originals. It's not for those who own them already, and think the upgrade should be free of charge.

I will wait until they offer the director's cut upgrade for free. Square Enix are now paying for the original game, DLCs and director's cut - that will not last forever and is not cost effective.

I concur with SpoonFULL in waiting. Having just completed the regular game last week (in around 16 hours) I don't feel especially compelled to pay for such an upgrade. It's not negative, merely a question of choice and practicality.
