I'm listening to Jimang's la divina tragedia.

I love the song, even though I hate the anime it first appeared in. It's a very unique song: It's awful, and at the same time it's awesome; It's terrible, and at the same time it's really cool; It's painful to listen to, and at the same time is really passionate and touching. I don't really understand it, but who cares about understanding stuffies?

And Jimang looks really cool, and fine, and tasty for such an old and ugly guy. :smitten:

They deserve each other, I guess.

Erik Satie - 3 Gymnopédies & Other Piano Works (Pascal Rogé)
Dude rocks : )
Gymnopedie No.3 (Orchestrated by Debussy)

Venetian Snares - My Half
Strictly kinda nostalgic :).

While I´m at repetés,
The Chameleons:
Second Skin
Monkeyland
Still not as popular as Joy Division´s Closer or The Cure´s Disintegration?
It should be :).

#3 is definitely my fave. I love the version by Sky (sort of a classical rock thing with guitarist John Williams). Most of their stuff is pretty average but that song is gorgeous ...

It fucking should be :).

Hey that was very good. I am surprised I have never heard of them (good thing the
Joy division and disintegration reference got my eye)!

It is particularly strange that my Goth/darkwave connoisseur friend (that has pushed boatloads of obscure stuff to me in addition to the boatload I have discovered for myself) had not heard of them either…

I'll just contribute a little air to this thread as I see you people are not shy with the classics or anything :)

Very nice indeed.

Now I have to post my own personal faves from the Genre :)

Starting from the Top:

Fields of the Nephilim Watchman (my personal theme song ;) )

And speaking of Live performances: Last exit for the Lost

Next up Bauhaus, gods what to choose from those guys :-/ … I know! :

She is in parties

And tying in with my Celtic mythology fixation : Hollow Hills

And last but not least Sisters of Mercy, so many awesome tunes..

…But I 'll naturally start with the Temple ;)

And I think to wrap up the second is a live motif : Walk away

That was lots of fun, that was… :)

P.S The only reason I do not post my joy division favorites is that this post would start to look like a playlist really fast :)

I love Deine Lakaien, must have most of their stuff. And of course I hunted down everything Ash, Murphy and co did on their own (nothing compares to the stuff they did with Bauhaus though). Very interesting stuff on the rest of the links though…

It has come to my attention some time now that I have grown a bit complacent in my musical pursuits the last decade or so… I just do not go out to hunt for "new" stuff as vigorously as I did… A sign of old age ? :)

P.S If you haven't listened to the Murphy/ Reznor collaboration you should imo
some I could find in a hurry:

Dead Souls,Sanity Assasin, Hurt, Dreams, Warm Leatherette

two very fine gentlemen...
