Default Pluvia - A 2D/3D Graphics Adventure

October 5th, 2020, 22:04
Pluvia
A 2D/3D Graphics Adventure, a beautiful story, both historic and technological, based on decision taking techniques.

We are a IT firm based in Rome, with about 20 developers. In the last ten years we have been developing a lot of software, for a large varieties of purposes, in particular for visual and TV applications.

We all are big gaming fans. Playing games has always been part of our free time activity. But we never developed games…

…until the March 2020 Covid Lockdown. Italy has been the first European country to be totally locked down: with our office closed, everyone was sitting at home in front of a PC! We continued working on our projects, but we had time to think of new things.

The idea of developing a Graphic Novel was originated by a chat with a friend, who happens to be a Professor of Ancient Rome History. He likes playing games as well and also told us about a lot of mysterious facts, undisclosed dilemmas and legends actually linked to Ancient - and Modern - Rome.

This way our graphic novel - Pluvia, i.e. rain in Latin - has been conceived: a mixture of history, legends, fantasy and geek "tech" obsessions…

Pluvia became an ambitious project: a first episode - Timgad - to be delivered by 2020, plus two more - Roma and Viral Rain - to be completed by Q2 2021. They are stand-alone episodes.

It is developed in Unity 3D and Daz3D, both in 2D and 3D.

We are currently developing the first episode.
