Starting world of Xeen soon, any recommendations?

screw it, I'll just bypass the last 2 levels. I'm pretty sure getting the songbird just gets you instructions to talk to the knight near the crashed ship, and all he requires is to know who sent you.

I think I know what place you are referring to, and I remember getting stuck there as well, with no guide being able to help me. Sadly I don't remember how I solved it, but it was solveable.
