Ok, I've searched all over the place so I'm coming here...
I am looking for an extremely old dos or windows dungeon game. Here is what I can remember.
You started in a village, and basically you could buy a few things or go into the dungeon. When you got down the entire place was black and would only clear up as you moved around. You would fight enemies (obviously) and find items, etc. I remember the items were cursed or blessed or regular or broken. You could find broken shields bucklers etc. Also there were rings that would give you powers etc.
The dungeon was always different, the levels weren't ever the same. I don't know how far I ever made it as a kid so I dont even know if you can beat the game. I remember there were also booby traps, and there were scrolls and spells that would let you transfer back to town.
I believe the character on the screen never moved meaning he was always facing one direction, i don't even think you could choose your character. When you fought it would just have text below telling you what was happening.
If someone can figure this out i will declare them a genius.
