@Wccftech Red Dead Redemption 2 has a PC trailer.

Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives on PC in a couple short weeks, and Rockstar have finally released a stunning 4K/60fps trailer of the game in action. RDR2 was a very nice-looking game on consoles, but it looks downright amazing running on PC - at times nearly photorealistic (I'm particularly impressed by the fuzziness of that bear's rear end). But enough jawing from me, check out the trailer for yourself!

That bouncing suspension bridge is a nice touch. Does it use a physics engine, I wonder?

I bought a ps4 for this game. Loved the story and managed to keep me till the end.

Of course i never did anything of the stupid "skin rabbits" "fishing" and "horse races" etc . I can't even come close of understanding why people like that kind of activities.

Also the combat was terrible.

Also the combat was terrible.

I bought Red Dead Redemption 1 for my PS3 when I was able to buy the version that included all of the add-ons. Though I usually have a hard time sticking with RPGs that are NOT centered in a "Tolkien-esque" fantasy setting, I found I was enjoying the game.

But at a certain point I found that I just sucked too much when it came to combat and I couldn't seem to get much better. After a while combat really felt like a chore and for that reason i stopped playing.

But maybe, as you assert, the combat was just terrible? Or was it me? Not sure…

It's definitely them, not you. All of RockStar's recent open world games (Red Dead 1, the GTAs) have had awful combat imo. Even many reviewers who've praised these games often mention the sluggish combat.

Yea, combat in GTA V isn't good. I doubt it improved since Red Dead 2 looks like GTA V just redone for the Old West setting.

I think the game looks amazing. Both on console and PC, but 60fps on PC will be especially wonderful. I can't wait to explore the game fully. It's gonna be a blast.

I'm not sure what was bad about the shooting in GTA5 or RDR2. It's average or slightly above average. I had no issues with it. But then again, I also love the slow and deliberate animations in RDR2 that some people hate. In some games I prefer realism over game-y.

My only issue with RDR on console, and the reason I couldn't finish neither RDR1 or 2 on console is because I'm just awful with aiming on a controller. And I refuse to use auto-aim. What I wouldn't give for RDR1 on PC.

Is this supposed to be an rpg or a GTA 5 clone with cowboys?
It's not RPG.

It's GTA Online clone without casino (currently) but with microtransactions.
Cowboys? What cowboys? Who cares about cowboys, buy all possible microtransactions now! And then again, again and again. Chop chop.

I have no idea about other Rockstar games, but I had absolutely no problems with combart in GTA5. On PC of course. Not that I care much about that, but in all honesty the only thing that wasn't painfully mediocre in GTA5 was combat.
What was sluggish so bad it could cause a mental breakdown were helicopter controls. If someone flew a simulated helicopter for the first time ever in GTA5, won't touch a game with helicopters ever again. It must be said that no other game (I played) did it so horrible.

I thought the only add-on was that silly zombie-themed one.

As far as the combat goes, I didn't think it was terrible, but I didn't think it was very good either. There's definitely a learning curve if you're not used to playing with a gamepad.

My concern with the PC version is that K+M controls might make it a little too easy if they leave everything else the same.

Is running around in an open world enough nowadays to be considered an RPG?

I'm gonna skip this one for the time being. On one hand the last GTA I truly enjoyed was Vice City in 2002(!). SA, 4 and 5 just did not click with me. It's not genre fatigue though, as I really loved the first Watch_Dogs for some reason. On the other hand I rarely play a sequel (I know technically it's a prequel, doesn't matter) until I competed the earlier games and RDR 1 is still not 100% playable on emulator (and it's said to be a great game I don't wanna miss).

Have it on PS4 but played just for few minutes as immediatelly since start I felt controller is killing the game for me. I expect the controls on PC will be on same level as GTAV, which was perfectly ok with k+m. So I will get it on PC and give it a try.

I usually enjoy these games till wow effect works and if story is thrilling I might even finish it. Cant say that about GTAV as it was boring for me. But cowboy setting sounds good and if story is any good and suitably gritty, I might like it, actually.

And no, its not RPG ... really not ... :-D

I played GTA 4 on consoles and then on PC and yeah, way too easy with k/m. Their games are balanced for pads... And RDR 2 doesn't felt different.

Whatever launch trailer appeared and I forced myself to give it a shot:

Kill me for saying this but you can't change the truth. Even Ubisoft, notorious for plastic and straw birdnests, makes better hair and beards than what's presented in that video.
How old is RDR2? 10 years?

It will probably be very polished in terms of being a port because they did a first class job doing that on GTA V.

Doesn't mean the combat will suck any less though.

Anyway, you don't buy these games for the combat, that's for sure.

Graphically, game is a beast, curious to see how far they'll push it on PC. Probably the best outdoor lighting in any open world game to date.
Has the same kind of Rockstar, "just one more job" by the numbers story, but characters ( especially main), ambiance and just the feel of the world, is really fantastic, I dare say on CDPR level.
