Editorial - Open World Games Should Scale Back

I got tired of games that required a party of varied abilities in order to play and complete. I was ecstatic when single player games became more common. More so when non-tactical/strategy/turn-based, bird's eye view, isometric gave way to 3rd person, real time combat. I liked the freedom of movement, being able to control my guy by looking over his shoulder instead of up in the sky like a kite.
Games like the Gothic series and FO3 forward, TES series are my kind. I don't find that any worlds are too big.

I find both types of games can be good, and I suspect I'll always be a bigger fan of party type products myself. Varied abilities can be quite intriguing just to find the proper balance, and turn based products are most definitely my preferred, I get a craving for action sometimes but it tends not to last very long.
