Yeah I saw that but I'm not too excited since "early 2021" isn't really a release date - could be any time between Jan 2021 to Jun 2021.
Since the backer Beta was a mess but showed potential I agree. It will probably be later next year. Shame all the promising RPGs are delayed or just stuck in in Early Access.:(

IGN Godfall Video Review

Godfall can be a fun and lovely gear-based action game for a time, but the repetition of its missions wears thin before long.
Here are some new beautiful screenshots for Co-Op RPG Outriders

System Shock Remastered Edition Update #75 - Kickstarter
We've got some exciting updates on physical goods! It was always our intention to ship the physical editions and extras as close to the launch date as possible, so that meant we had to start production on these goods at least a year in advance. The Big Box Collector's Edition has just finished printing and our friends at Limited Run sent over a teaser video.

These game edition titles become more and more tasteless.
But of course - there's a target group for that.

Path of Exile - New lore-focused Q&A
We know that many of our players are interested in exploring Path of Exile lore. Over the years we've seen a lot of fan theories about the world of Wraeclast, from the Harbinger language to the true identity of the Strange Voice. Some time ago we received a bunch of lore questions from the community and asked our narrative designers to shed light on some of them.

The Escapist Games Showcase - Fall Edition

It's Time Skyrim Pass the Torch,But What Game Will Seize it?
Skyrim changed the RPG genre when it released back in 2011, selling 20 million copies by 2014 and leading many other developers to attempt to integrate large open-worlds into their fantasy settings. Nearly a decade later, many fans are still searching for a game which can scratch the same itch and engender the same sense of freedom.

Many RPGs have released since Skyrim, but few have been received as such a generational leap forward. Even Bethesda's own offerings, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, have fallen short of Skyrim's immense impact. With the window of opportunity wide open, many developers are jumping at the chance to become the first defining next-gen RPG studio. Here are the competitors and what they bring to the table.
Dragon Age 4: All the New Reasons to Play as a Human
Dragon Age 4 is set to pick up the story of Solas the Dread Wolf as he plans to bring down the Veil between the Fade, the realm of magic, and Thedas, the main setting of the Dragon Age games. Despite this focus on the elves, however, the game will likely take players to the Tevinter Imperium as its main setting, the oldest human kingdom in Thedas.

The humans of Thedas have a long and fascinating history that's primed to come to a head in Dragon Age 4. While they can easily be thought of as the default option in fantasy games with multiple playable races, there are some great new reasons for players to consider roleplaying as a human in the upcoming Dragon Age game.
Whalenought Studios Mechajammer - November Build
We're on track for releasing a larger version from the main map by the end of the month, and in the meantime are bringing back the deathmatches for more combat stress testing.

Our current combat tests can have massive NPC scales (upward of a 100+ if they aren't looking for cover, which is the stupid-tier of enemies), so it'll be good to get larger map and sizable squad sized fights for these tests.

Sounds like many gamers aren't searching very hard if they haven't found Skyrim-level freedom in the past 9 years.

Hello everybody. I've been hanging around these forums for years, but just now got off my lazy arse to register. Coming up to my 7th decade now, and still playing Skyrim/ Oblivion .... modded to buggery of course.
I was a bit sad when I read about Microsoft buying out Bethesda et al. Mainly because I wouldn't trust Microsoft to NOT act like a bunch of scumbags. I foresee forced gaming subscriptions on the horizon. Game Pass etc. No thanks, I want to buy a game outright, and use it , play it, mod it, or whatever, when I want to.
I USED to like Microsoft, but since all the dirty-dealings with Windows 10...so -called "telemetry" etc. ..well...does ANYBODY really trust them nowadays?
Anyway, just wanted to say that I'm looking forward to the eventual release of "Avowed". Even though it's probably a couple of years away, it's probably a lot nearer than the next Elder Scrolls.

World of Darkness Justin Achilli Interview - VentureBeat
GamesBeat: What does bringing all development on World of Darkness in-house mean?

Justin Achili: Development for the World of Darkness happens in two tiers. The first of this is the core IP development, setting the foundations and pillars for each of the WoD sub-brands, the overall worldbuilding. From this, Paradox creates a TTRPG that represents the experience, and any dependent materials, such as the sect books for Vampire.

The second tier is supplementary material, which we work directly with our creative partner, Renegade Game Studios, to create. These are things like regional sourcebooks, chronicles, guides to factions, and the like that support the Paradox-developed TTRPG.

GamesBeat: Does this mean that all video game stories will be developed either in-house or start in-house?

Achili: Paradox works directly with creative partners to help determine the best creative fit for the stories they want to tell. This can mean that they come to us with a story idea for a game and we help them deliver an authentic WoD experience, or it can mean the creative partner comes to us with an interesting game system or mechanic and we suggest a good IP match for it. It gives creative partners a huge amount of leeway to propose what they want to make and we help shape it into something that, based on our development of the IP, we want to offer and we think the audience will enjoy, all while remaining true to the World of Darkness.

Wasteland 3 Soundtrack Expanded - inxile
You’re listening to the sweet, sultry sounds of the apocalypse. If you can hear this, lucky you! You’re one of the chosen who’ve made it through the perils of the wasteland. Hopefully, you’ve done it in style. What’s that you say? You need more Wasteland 3 tunes to get you through the frozen tundra? Don’t worry, DJ inXile has got you covered.

Since the release of Wasteland 3 on August 28, we’ve been thrilled to see the overwhelming positivity toward the game’s soundtrack. We’re excited to announce that as of today the vast majority of the game’s remaining soundtrack has been added to the album that’s already available to backers via CrowdOx, and those with the Digital Deluxe edition of the game on Steam or GOG. That’s right! If you already own the soundtrack, you’re getting the extra tracks too. If you don’t already own the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, well heck! What are ya waiting for? Go on and get it!

Eagle-eyed observers will take note that most, but not all the tracks are now available in this listing. Believe us, we tried to get all the tracks, but had to stop just short of getting into a knife-fight with some lawyers.

Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms - Journey to The Desolation of Baga
Often referred to simply as the orc homeland and currently called The Desolation of Baga, the name of the kingdom changes with every era a great hero or tyrant appears, always in motion like the shifting sands.

When The Tempest swept the land, a great hero by the name of Baga attempted to enter the Valley of Storms to defeat Alaloth and claim the land for the orcs. Some say Baga heard the screams of his suffering ancestors in the Tempest and sought to set them free. Regardless of the truth, the story always ends the same way. The hero failed and the region around the breach became tainted, while the vegetation and cities were destroyed by a second storm. It is rumored that Baga was cast back into his homeland and swallowed by the earth.

Forced to leave their ruined cities, the orcs from this region adopted the use of tents and became a more nomadic people. A high resistance to heat allowed them to quickly adjust to hostile environments and endure the hot winds of The Desolation.

Mass Effect - Where to Go Next? - PC Gamer
Everyone who played through the Mass Effect series has their own theory about what the ideal direction for the next game would be, and not just in terms of its physical location. Do you want it to be a sequel or prequel? Would you rewrite the ending of Mass Effect 3, or pick one and make it canon, or ignore the whole thing completely? Make it another game about being a spaceship captain or something different? Stay in Andromeda or go back to the Milky Way?
Assassin's Creed Valhalla owes a lot to TV's Vikings - PCGamer
Both Vikings and Assassin's Creed Valhalla present a moody, stylized vision of the era. They shave the sides of their heads and braid whatever hair is left. They often wear rugged, primitive-looking garb with lots of jagged leather and bristly fur, proving we haven't fully gotten away from the image of the Viking warrior as a bestial northern barbarian. Historically, a Norseman's battle kit in this era wouldn't be nearly as dramatic or embellished, usually consisting of a chainmail shirt and a steel nasal helm with some padding underneath and a lightly decorated tunic over the top. They were practical, not ostentatious.
Torchlight III - Developer Update
October 13th was a big day for us; as a team we have been working on this game for more than four years and have watched it steadily, and sometimes quite rapidly, grow and change as a product. We are proud of the game we have created as we know we have provided countless smiles and hours of entertainment for many of those who have wandered into the frontier.

And while we are delighted with what our team has accomplished, we have recently taken a step back to look at the launch and development of Torchlight III. Our internal teams have created thoughtful, but sometimes difficult post-mortems that will help guide us with future updates for Torchlight III. We understand that while many believe Torchlight III to be a great game, there are parts of it that have received critical, but fair feedback; we recognize that there is work to be done in several areas of the game to bring it up to a more polished level.

We won't be able to completely placate all of the critiques in one patch, but as we move forward we are working on ways to simplify and better our internal process so that we can make better decisions for the community, the game, and for ourselves as a team.
Grim Dawn - Upcoming Changes to the Shattered Realm
To make sure that nobody is caught by complete surprise with Grim Dawn's upcoming major update, we'd like to outline some significant changes we are making with v1.1.9.0, especially as it pertains to the community's recent efforts to come up with a rating system for build performance.

With Forgotten Gods, the Shattered Realm offered an alternative endgame progression. As it scales effectively forever, the intent had always been that eventually a character would not be able to progress any further. Where this stopping point should be is up to some debate and everybody has their own opinion on that.

Fallout: The Frontier - Commitment, Deadlines and Releases

This video discusses release timelines, and a general overlook at modding and how commitments can shape the path of a project.
How Big Is Fallout: The Frontier?

This video gives an overview of how big the mod really is. Some other info: - The mod is currently sitting at close to 30GBS without a final pass of cleanup. - NV/FO3 both utilise several dozen voice actors that do many many passes of the same lines for generic greetings and combat lines. This accounts for several thousand lines in both games that are just the same lines over generic greetings. - This is strictly for the base games only, not the DLCS. - All values given are mostly accurate within a few record values.

Happy Thanksgiving from inXile!
It's about that time of year in the good ol' U.S. of A. where we gather around the table and join each other in saying how thankful we are that our wifi is stable and we're able to hold this family video chat. It may be a strange one this year, but look on the bright side, they can't smell the three-fingers of whiskey on your breath when you lean in real close.

Speaking of heavy drinking, a big hearty thanks to you for hanging in there with us during this fantastically hot mess of a year, and being a part of our community. As a token of our appreciation, here's some custom Wasteland 3 T-Day art by Dan Glasl, one of inXile's Senior Concept Artists. The portrait features a rare (but not completely impossible) moment where the Patriarch of Colorado, Mother Nancy Reliance, and their 'friends' and family set aside their petty differences and get together to enjoy some Poultron ‚fresh from the oven! Yum.
Solasta: Crown of the Magister - Community Feedback and Sourcebook
Today we're going to be doing a slightly different Dev Update than usual. You might remember that we've always been talking about working hand in hand with the community. This stance, which started during our Kickstarter Campaign, has not changed - if anything, Early Access is a direct extension of that. So far we've mostly used our Dev Updates to talk to you about what we have in store for Solasta. What we've planned, what we're working on, so on and so forth. This time however, we're going to be looking at some of the most popular suggestions and feedback we've received so far - and tell you what we'd like to do on each topic after sitting down together and discussing about it. For those who are curious on how we tackle feedback, we're holding regular meetings with the core team to go over the various community feedback. Considering the amount we've received, there are many suggestions that won't be featured here - but worry not, Community Feedback Reviews will come back in future Dev Updates as well.
Urban Strife - October 2020 Dev Update
After the big announcement of our partnership with MicroProse and all the buzz in the media, yesterday we saw Urban Strife enter Steam Top Wishlists! And we want to extend you all a big THANK YOU! But there is still a lot more work to be done, so distractions aside, here's what we have been busy with in the last two months since the August update:
Drox Operative 2 - Early Access Month 5 Update
Operative 2 has now been in early access for a little over 5 months and is currently available on Steam and GOG.

As of this post, we've released 26 patches (7 since the last post) with 933 total changes (152 since the last post), which can be read here. This consists of a ton of small fixes and balance changes, but there have been a bunch of larger changes.
Knights of the Chalice II Update - New Patch and Guidebook

Cyber Knights - November Progress Report
It is a thankful time of the year and we're taking some time to reflect on all the support that you and our wider community have given us over the past decade. That last part can be kind of hard to believe -- that Cory and I have been creating games professionally together for ten years and as a hobby for our entire lives. We couldn't have done it without you, without our repeat Kickstarter backers, without our Patreons and without our entire community. Thank you all for what you've given us, which has allowed us to give you these games in return!
