Bioware has released patch 1.03 for Dragon Age: Origins. Here's the patch notes:
Various changes have been made to code and resources to support the Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack. Most of these changes do not affect Origins itself.
Some players were experiencing increasingly long load times. A major cause of this problem has been fixed.
At higher levels, non-player characters now receive a bonus to armor penetration. This mitigates an unintentional imbalance with well-armored high-level characters, since armor penetration previously did not scale as aggressively as armor itself did.
Elite-rank enemies (lieutenants) can no longer be shattered. This preserves the intended tactical design of many combat encounters.
Portraits for summoned creatures (like a ranger's wolf) were displaying improperly while in the party camp. This no longer occurs.
As you can see many of these changes are identical to the changes occuring in the patch released for PS3 earlier.
More information.

Sounds like they fixed the memory leak that many people were reporting. I expect a lot of people will be very happy about that.

The shatter change is good too. I was a bit surprised the first time I was able to shatter an elite. I dare say that not so many people will be happy about this change initially, but it's still a good one.

I have not tried the patch yet, but I did have a memory leak problem (and that's why I didn't replay the game after finishing it once). Loading time on the map could approach 2 minutes after 1 hour, but was around 10 seconds in the first 10 minutes of playing.

im wondering whether i should install this one or not... before applying a new patch I always hit the boards and see what people are saying first just in case. Lots of complaints of dlc disappearing.

I just got my rig up and running and everything going well, as far as my games are concerned. THe last thing that I want is THE main game right now getting messed up and having to spend gaming time messing w/ it. I'll wait and see what the official 'Watch verdict is first.

Yeah I'm waiting too. I didn't install this because it seems that many people have experienced more crashes after installing 1.03. In addition there are numerious reports that patch has partly broken the stealing skill? And lastly this mod can really mess up your mods or so they say @ dragonagenexus.

And isn't it dissapointing that the whole fix list so terribly short. There are numerious small bugs that bioware didn't bother to adress even if people have been reporting them since the day one.

I experienced really long loading times, and they weren't increasing, they were long from the very beginning. I hope they fixed that with 1.03. I'll probably install it when Awakening arrives.
