Geeknifty reviewed Ancient Frontier: Steel Shadows and found it solid but unimaginative.

...

Overall Ancient Frontier: Steel Shadows left a lot to be desired. It did the core of things correctly, but it never really got into complexities or changed things up. While some games can be forgiven for limitations, such as having a great/funny story or changing up gameplay, Steel Shadows got old fast because you could tell where the story was going and not care at the same time. However, it still is challenging and can be fun as a turn based strategy game in space. It just would have been nice to have a map of where it was all going.

Final Score: 7 out of 10

Exactly what I thought! Solid but all in all not engaging enough. If you hurt for turn-based space battles this will scratch the itch... for a while at least.

Badly executed space battles. Lack of skill. Maybe could be brain damage from constant microwave irradiation of Wi-Fi & mobile phones night and day. Usually what you need is: throw away your wi-fi, use landlines, UTP net cable. Always keep your mobile phone at least 4 meters / 14-feet away from you. (If you wanna remain cancer-free & sharp in the head.)
