Does anybody know the Fritz & Chesster games ? I would like to know how suitable they are for a little girl, and what's the difference between 1, 2 … 6. And how is the DS version, while we're at it.

Fritz it one of the more famous Chess engines out there. I don't know if commercially sold Fritz packages contain material for learning chess however. I would instead use stuff like Chess Tempo website to practice tactics. If you want to try to learn positional aspects of Chess, there's a couple courses on Chess.com for that that have helped me greatly.
