Well, I put a spoiler here.

Regarding the area I was in, the "contents" weren't that much of an surprise. I had rather to expect it.

What made me being astonished was the whole layout.

That's actually pretty cool, though it's a pity there wasn't anything to actually do if I understand correctly.

In my time with the game, I found some nice vistas but no interesting characters and only sub-par quests.

The cave can be found … if you travel to the point where the river comes into the map (so to say) … on the other side of the river than the side where you start … Edit : To be precise : Not where the river flows into the sea … No, the opposite side of that, against the stream, but high above the river.

But be warned : I acidentally saw two very heavy monsters there … I didn't dare to get close to them, because of their "names" alone …

This place where this cave is is way beyond an civilization. I think there aren't even Bandit camps there. Only Wolves, and huge numbers of them.

If you can have games like Oblivion, Gothic 3 and Risen, then why would somebody bother to waste money on Two Worlds(?). It felt all the way like: "Hey guys, Oblivion sells like anything, let's make cheap clone of it!".

I picked this up a while ago from GOG. I ended up playing for hours and finished the main story which was a bit crap.
Some of the other quests were quite original and interesting though.

This game really hit my buttons as I loved the exploring, loot, alchemy, weapon and armour upgrade system. That kept me going through the uninspired plot.

I remember finding the cave that Alrik talks about and thinking that is pretty damn cool.

The first 5 hours are the worst and contain the silliest voice acting. Kind of like they didn't want you to play the game. After that some of the dialog is pretty funny and you realise you are meant to laugh at it. This isn't a serious game, or maybe the devs were just confused.

It is worth the $7 but I can see why some people would just hate it and that is fair enough.

Maybe because they already finished all of those games?

Second JDR13's comment. Some of us consume more games. A lesser game is sometimes better than replaying a good one.

Well, from the discussion it sounds like I might like it but ultimately be frustrated with it. That's kind of how I feel about Drakensang. I really want to like it because it has some very good points going for it but the overall experience is a disappointment.

Thanks guys! I'll mull it over some more before taking the $7.39 plunge.

Interesting … It contains Add-Ons ???

I don't remember having heard of Add-Ons for the German version … The next thing of it we have here is the "Game Of The Year Edition" … http://www.amazon.de/Topware-Enterta…5096215&sr=8-1

It seems to contain "Tainted Blood" but "Curse Of Souls" is totally new to me, never heard of it …

One edition of this "Game Of The Year Edition" seems to come with a solution book (or what's the word ?) : http://www.amazon.de/Two-Worlds-Game…5096215&sr=8-6

It's not clear what difference there is between the "standard" and "epic" editions.

edit: IGN says this: "Two Worlds: Epic Edition contains contain the original game and the add-ons "Tainted Blood" and "Curse of Souls""

Hm, yes, I think this is the right word.
We often say here "solution books", or "game solution books", that's why.
"We" don't think of solving a game with a "strategy", it's rather solving a game anyway … Um, difficult to explain …

The term "Strategy Guide" is rather sed for games which do require a strategy in oder to solve them … Like … simulations, strategy games and such. Not so much with RPGs.

I think it's more of a catch all term for the guides rather than referring to the nature of the games

The "addons" were a couple of multiplayer-only maps.

Ah, I see. So it is yet another game jumping onto the muliplayer bandwagon.

Jumping on? TW has had MP since release, I think, but it's hardly "jumping on". Many RPGs have multiplayer in some capacity - Baldur's Gate 2, NWN, Sacred Gold (I think) and Sacred 2, and there's likely a bunch of others I've forgotten.

As a singleplayer, I only see (and focus on) the singleplayer content.

Given that, I'm blind in some points of view.

Not quite. They used the technical multiplayer environment, but you can play them single player.
