Default Carl Jackson's Key

Is there any specific method to succeed at jumping for the key on the rafter in Jackson's house? I did not have too much trouble making the jump for the skill book in Farglow, but I cannot seem to do it in the farmhouse. I've tried jumping onto a barrel or a shelf, etc., first, but either I jump under or over the rafter.

A better idea, I believe, would have been to find a ladder or a grappling hook, or to be able to shoot the key down. Spending this much time trying to jump for a key does not a happy gaming day make, although I am really enjoying the game otherwise.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Are there many other places in this game where jumping is this difficult?

Thanks and appreciation for your help.

As far as I recall you had to move the boxes to a good position to get the key.

Hmm, I've noticed objects can be moved, although I've always done that accidentally. I'll give it a try.

Thank you very much.
