Yesterday was a more mellow kind of day for me, listened to a couple of Men at Work cd's, then listened to Sia's most recent three albums. Great stuff, guaranteed to mellow you out a bit!

I spent the tenth watching and listening to some of Bowie's finest concerts, notably his fiftieth birthday show that I was most fortunate enough to be able to attend in person, and his Live at the Ten Spot performance. When the Stones cancelled, Bowie stepped in at literally the last moment, and made that gig his own. I bought tickets to see the Stones but I'm forever ecstatic that Bowie was there instead!!

I was digging out rare and unusual albums during the last month …
- Keats, a spin-off of The Alan Parsons Project, a bit mediocre, but not bad, purely 80s music
- Zazu by Rosie Vela, she really has an unusual voice, and this is not really pop music as well … rather going towards Prog …
- The Night by Paintbox, the same Paintbox who toured with David Rhodes, whom I only know as playing the guitar for Peter Gabriel.
This is clearly prog, but beautiful one.
There is another band called Painbox out there, too. The band I mean, however, has a label called "Wild Chance Music". It's kind of their trade mark.
They do quite beautiful music, imho :
This is their first album : "Bright Gold And Red" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0…dm_ws_sp_ps_dp
This is their second album "The Night" : https://www.amazon.com/Night-Paintbo…night+paintbox
Apart from that, Amazon even refuses to list them as an separate artist identity / band name. All I get are song names with "Paintbox". So I guess I must have been very lucky that I got this album through Amazon marketplace as CD - it was expensive, too.

So far today, while breaking in a new game, I've listened to the first three albums by Jimmy's Chicken Shack, an old favourite of mine from my Annapolis days. I'll be listening to their fourth album in about an hour!!

My recent spasm of research continues to pay dividends. I've been playing the heck out of Soft Science and will pick up the CD once I've got a little loot saved up. This band is growing on me:

This morning I went through some of the earlier Gun's n Roses albums, notably the first three. I still believe that their debut albums was one of the best of all time, certainly one of the greatest first albums for any band. I like to remember what they were, not what they evolved into.

Yesterday I spent the day checking out a new game, and what better music to have in the backround than Frank Zappa!

And just in case you thought "enough already" - more dark atmosphere. I must be in a mood. Thank God I don't have to go to the grocery store today.
