Anticipating Skyrim

those new pics look quite good - except for the glowing barmaid and the torture room, which seems to over-exposed and to have bad shadows (?)
Edit: ah damn, I spoke to soon. Turning on my nitpicking lenses ;-) I noticed that the guy shooting a jet of flame seems to be standing 'in' the ground? Look at his left foot. Also, the ground texture is pretty bad - no parallax mapping or fancy shaders to improve the appearance of the cobbles. Still, I assume these are still Xbox shots, so I expect they will have decent fx for PCs.

ooh i like dragon armour.
That is some other type of armor, perhaps Orcish, comparing with the concept art: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_4lrm97dBqN…im_003_orc.jpg
In any case actual dragon armor is not made from metal but from dragon bones and looks like this:

If I keep visiting this thread, I'm going to have already seen the entire game by the time it's released.

Anyway I think about 30 days left and I am going to ignore all skyrim related info. Easier said than done I think!

I'll probably wait a few months until I can mod the game to my preferences. I've also been having this crazy idea about giving Oblivion another chance first. I hate playing sequels without having finished the previous chapter.

The aurora looks nice. Sloppy UV work with the branches of the tree (last shot) though

I'll reserve judgment until I actually see it in motion on my monitor.
Screenshots can be deceiving. I remember being completely blown away by some of the pre-release screens for Rage, but I was disappointed when I finally got to play it.

Two questions:
1. Since Skyrim is the place of the Nords, can we expect the same eloquent Nord humour as in Morrowind?
2. When will we see the first "Finished Skyrim, afterthoughts" thread on the watch?
…

I still haven't "finished" Oblivion or Morrowind. Was hoping to at least complete the main quest before Skyrim is released, but so far I have yet to complete MQ, Fighter's Guild, Thieves' Guild, Mages' Guild, KOTN and Shivering Isles questlines, despite having played Oblivion for years.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people posting about how they finished it within a few days of release though. Personally, I don't see the fun in quicksaving every ten minutes and blasting through games like that, but to each his own.

Of course also based on previous Bethesda games I will then immediately start again…

I'll start posting my thoughts a month or two after release when the hype starts to die down. I'll be observing and reading opinions from others in the meantime, though.
