Prologue
A Dream into a Nightmare

“Why?” he questioned himself, as he ran on the dark, yet destroyed roads of Handmill Town, as if there was a really strong earthquake, which destroyed the whole town. “Why did all of this happened only to me?” he wondered, while the clouds were so dark as if a storm was going to start, the buildings were old, rusty and destroyed as if it was Silent Hill itself, and the dark cloud chased after this young man around the town. He introduced himself as “I’m Ralph… Ralph Hammerson.”, and continued to explain the starting point of all this mess “It might sound crazy for you lot, but it all started by a… book.” he yet closed this sentence, while he reached the saving light by jumping from a fragment to a fragment of the greatly destroyed road “If you want to learn how did it happen, then hear this and don’t be shocked, if you hear it. It all started back at my home in Sandhare Town 2 months ago…”
2 months ago, one night, a 47-years-old post office employee, called Alan Hammerson, just got back from his usual work and said to his wife “I’m back, Emma!”, she replied “Welcome back, Alan! I’m just making a dinner for the three of us. Ralph’s at his friend for his homework for tomorrow’s test. He’ll be back about this hour.” Then Alan replied back to her “Is that so, Emma? Alright then, I’m off to do a bath to wash myself from the hard work.” Emma said “Dear, dinner will be ready approximately an hour, so don’t be late.” Alan, then, replied to her “OK, OK… I’ll be done in half an hour. Don’t rush things!”.
Half an hour later, their 17-years-old son, Ralph, returned from his friend and shouted “I’m back!” his mother said “Oh, welcome back, Ralphie! Dad just got back from his job!” Ralph replied, as excitement flowed in his veins, “Is dad here? Great! I want to ask something to him about a schoolwork, which our professor asked me and my friend to take care about and dad’s the perfect man to discuss it about.”, his mother surprisingly questioned him “Oh is that so? What’s this schoolwork about?” Ralph answered her “It’s nothing to be considered a matter at all, mom. It’s about to write an exhibition for the dreams with my classmate.”, his mother then replied back to him “Oh my… Then you should rush to discuss it with your dad. He had a brother, who was a psychologist in Oxford and wrote a book about dreams and nightmares.” Ralph, as he was very excited, replied to her “Alright! Thanks, mom!”, his mother replied to him as a warning “Dinner will be ready in a while!”, Ralph told her “No need, mom! My classmate, Jack, just served me some food, while we were discussing about our homework, so I’m not really that hungry. Thanks!”, his mother, as she was surprised about his reply, replied back to him with pleasure “Is that so? Alright then. I’ll hold some food for you in case you’re hungry later or just to take that to your school.”.
Ralph left his schoolbag to his room, which is in the upper floor, and then rushed to his parents’ bedroom to discuss the matter with his father. Ralph told his dad about the exhibition, which their professor asked to, then, his father replied “Oh… So that’s how it is. Did mom tell you that I had a brother, who was a psychologist in Oxford and some stuff?” Ralph replied him “Yes, dad. She already told me about that when I just got back… I’m curious about it. What does it have to do with this matter?” His father suggested him to be calm and not to rush things up and laughed with excitement “He he! Don’t rush things up, my son! My brother not only was a psychologist, but also an author. He indeed wrote a book about Dreams and Nightmares called “Journey in the Mind”. Ralph was curious about this book and heard his father out, and then his father continued his explanation about it, while he walked to his bookshelf to pick this book out of it “I see that you’re that curious. Every professor from all universities found this research of my brother such an interesting and well researched topic, that gave them a pain in their brains. Your uncle, Jimmy Waker, had a seminar and an interview about this project. At these times it was difficult for him to handle them out, but he was a really tough guy to deal of” as he showed his book and gave it to Ralph, he then continued “Here, my son! This is the book, which your uncle wrote down. You might be really interested in it, since it’s about these topics you want to have in your exhibition. If you read it thoroughly, you’ll find it very interesting.” Ralph thankfully replied him “Thank you, dad! Now that you brought uncle to this topic, what happened to him?”, his father, as he sounded very grim and gloomy at his face, replied “Your uncle, Jimmy Waker, is dead from heart attack just some years ago. He was very young. Just about 27-years-old. It was 5 years before your birthday.”. Ralph, as he looked depressed and took a look to this book, his uncle wrote, he held onto it and told “Sorry if I brought this topic, which reminded uncle, like this. My condolences, dad!”, his father, while trying to cheer Ralph, told him “Cheer up! It happens sooner or later. Can’t be helped. So don’t be like that in front of me. Silly you! Go to your room to read this book till the end.” Ralph changed his mood and excitedly told his dad “OK, dad! Thank you! Off to read this book!”.
His father, Alan, saw his son leaving his room with cheerful and joyful eyes, as he cried since he reminded him of his brother. Some minutes later Emma shouted “Dear, food’s ready! Come down!”, Alan replied “Coming!”. In the meanwhile, Ralph just entered his room, changed his clothes and started reading his uncle’s book “Journey in the Mind”. Some hours later his parents wished him goodnight, Ralph replied them the same wish, while reading the book. As the moonlight filled his room with its soft lightly rays, he started to be sleepy, while proceeding till the chapter 7. Before the end, without knowing that he felt asleep with his book on his bosom, he started dreaming that he was still awake with the book with him in his room. When he saw the end being empty without further writing, he thought “Strange. Why is the rest this blank? Didn’t uncle include all his research?” as he closed his book and watched his alarm clock, he continued to think “Oh no. It’s this late!” and, while he continually hits the alarm clock in the though of being broken, he thought “Is this thing broken? Why did it stop at 3:33am? Oh boy, no need to deal with it. I’ll ask dad to fix it.”. Ralph, without knowing that he’s still sleeping, is trying to sleep, but nothing happened. He insisted to sleep, but, while he was trying to sleep, he though “Can’t sleep. Damn! Guess I’ll have to go down to drink some water.”. Later he did go to the kitchen to take some water, but, while he’s going down the stairs, he’s seeing the place being changed into a nightmarish one. The place became dark with crimson lights being filled onto the walls. Ralph asked himself “What’s going on? Why is the place changing? It’s creepy!” he then continually walked to the kitchen not only being thirsty, but also very frightful into the kitchen to the refrigerator to check with terror and fear if there’s water. When he opened the refrigerator, with shock he found out the inside of it with blood and demonic flesh and got away from that from the view of this creepy scenery. He then got down the floor and crawled away from it, as he thought “What’s that creepy thing?” as he looked around him “What’s with the Pentacle on the floor? No way! Why’s the place filled with blood and chained flesh and bones?”.
An eerie sound emitted to his ears and gave him a warning shock of being followed by someone suspicious, turned his head and his eyes slowly to the left and gave him a though “What was that?”. A creepy shadow was indeed lurking at the corner of this nightmarish place waiting to attack him. As Ralph was looking around, while hearing the eerie grind from the walls, the mysterious shadow walked like a spider on the walls and the ceiling without letting him know his presence and approached with caution, so he could attack him. Ralph turned around and saw this demon attacking him and shouted from the fear. The moment the demon snatched him and started scratching him with his claws, Ralph woke up from this Nightmare with his heart almost ready for a heart attack and breathing very heavily. As Ralph calmed down from the fear of being killed by this monster, he then thought “What was that thing? That thing scratched me all over…” he then re-thought that he didn’t want to pass through the same nightmare he checked the alarm clock and saw it’s only 5:27am. He found out that this alarm clock works perfectly and has gone down to drink some water. While he walked to the kitchen with his gloomy and terrific face, he thought “Oh… It was just a nightmare! I don’t think it’ll happen this often. I’ll settle down, when I drink the water.” When he drank the water, he returned back to the bed to sleep again for the rest of the hours before school.
The next morning Ralph woke up with a headache, which unknown is the reason about it, he started being dizzy and thought “Why do I have such a headache, of all days? Never mind that. I’ll drink some depon to calm the pain.” He then did go down to the kitchen, while he held onto the forehand with his hand as a sign of a headache. She heard the footsteps at the stairs, then she turned to check and found Ralph being this dizzy, but worried as she was, his mother said to him “Good morning, Ralphie… Oh, you have a headache, eh? It’s rare for you to have a headache this morning. Fortunately, I have some depon for your case…”, while she walked to pour some cold water to a glass “You need to see a doctor for that, just in case.” she applied, Ralph answered her back “Thanks, mom. I will go to the doctor after school. Need to do some research with my friend at the bookstore to find out about some interesting things my uncle wrote down, she then nodded “I see… If you need to find about the research of your uncle, you need to go to the public bookstore at the university, where Jimmy graduated. You’ll find out about his research there. I and your dad happen to have a good friend, who was your uncle’s psychology professor. I’ll talk to him about you and then you can go talk to him there.” Ralph thankfully said her “Thanks, mom. I’ll talk to him after I go to the doc for my headache.” His mother replied back “No problem. Go or you’ll be late.”

In a period, where once Angels and Demons lived under the Agreement of Peace, where it has been created between The God and The Devil for the end of the Eternal War of Heavens, there was a very beautiful land, full of wandering in peace souls, with every natural existence, which was Mother Nature’s creation, surrounded with clear and drinkable water and creatures, who never existed in Earth. That was the Paradise, called Paradisia. At the other side, there was a land, dark with thick and black clouds, burned mountains from the Eternal Flame, a land full of corrupted souls, sinful souls in lava’s nadir and under the Demonic torturers’ hands, whose the peace seeked, but they have done something terrible, while they lived. A world, where no peaceful and restful soul never once sets a foot, is uninvited, illegal and uncrossed. That was the Hell, called as Hellia. The War of Heavens started with bloody attacks of the furious beasts of Devil o with dark coloured skin, horns, tails, bat wings and dark eyes and hairs, followed with other beats of every kind, and of the enlightened warriors of God with white skin like a snow, normal, with white wings of a hawk, with white eyes and hairs, followed with the elements of nature. Those were the Demons and the Angels. The War of Heavens took place at the once without monsters Hidna Desert, with the sky being still peaceful, yet dark and thick from the black clouds as if it forebodes the End of the World. The war drums echoed from the side of the Demons foreboding the hatred, while they powered their moral up before they do their first strike, but in the other side echoed a very heavy melody from the funnel as if it forebodes the hope and the courage to the hearts of the enlightened warriors before with their turn to shout bravely and strong as strong as the funnel’s call echoes. Demons and Angels were looking each other at their eyes with their glances ready to kill and grated from fear and their adrenaline at the peak as if it forebodes inside their cleansed and corrupted minds that Charon staying by their side with the Soul Scythe ready to collect their souls to the other side before being resurrected in the New World. With The God and The Devil as generals, and Satan and the 3 famous archangels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, as commanders, those warriors started to clash with the first signal for attack. The moment the historical war ended, there were huge casualties in both sides, with the few survivors to collect their corpses and bury them with respect to the dead by striking their tombs with their own respected weapons. There voted the Peace with the surrendering of both sides for the end of the bloody clashes. Although they’re worst enemies, they gave each other’s hands, their looks were stoned with fury and fatigue, the Aramaic spellings as heavy as they were, announced the end of the War of Heavens.
1000 years later, a conflict started to rise and everybody wanted to murder each other, even worse the Angels. Due of many scandals, Angels and Demons, without knowing what’s going on in every side, they started to be very strict, without any other choice, and very serious. The Courts were built, which their only goal was to follow the Agreement of Peace and to avoid the existence of the new slaughter of souls, Angels and Demons. Between of those Angels, there was Archangel Kyriel, whom there was a great conflict upon him, and of whom the corrupted Angels had a goal to frame. This scandal has been covered so well, so well as The God himself doesn’t know its root, and they started giving false testimonies at the Supreme Court of Paradisia in goal of covering their guilt by banning Kyriel to Hellia. The Supreme Court’s decision crashed Kyriel’s heart, so much as he begged to forgive him by allegating his innocence, but the attempt was no good and the Judgment as blind as she was, the cube felt upon poor Kyriel to his ban from Paradisia. For 2 days straight, he was locked inside the Dark Prison, where he has been guarded by 4 Archangels, who knew Kyriel’s history. In despair and sorrow as he was, the paranoia and the insomnia grew stronger inside of him, so much as he started to go nuts from bad to worse. His days as moderated as they were, the more the time passed around him, the more his heart strengthened by starting to lock his feelings, to harden and to blacken his heart. The next week, the time of his ban has been decided to be in the midnight, where will the full moon exist in order that the Gate of Hell opens, a gate illegal and unseen from every normal soul, guarded by 8 Seraphim with powerful magical powers. At the peak of this tower, where the Gate of Hell lies, the supreme judge announced as followed “In the name of God and before of Judgment, the supreme court of Paradisia deemed this defendant Archangel Kyriel guilty with the accusation of the treachery and murder upon the dead Arch-Patriarch Malaek Naseem, therefore it was decided the permanent ban of Archangel Kyriel to Hellia by the supreme court. As of now, he’s deemed as a Fallen Angel and he’s removed from his duties as an Archangel. The cube felt!» After that, the 4 Archangels followed him to his last way to the Gate of Hell. At that moment at the fall, Kyriel stopped his footwalk a step before he falls in the vortex, which is famous as the Gate of Hell, and judge Hariel, with Kyriel’s father, archbishop and apostle of God, Malaniel, to be stayed 5 foots away and behind him with a lot of crowd to watch this incident, announced the following question to Kyriel “Kyriel, do you have anything final to say?”, Kyriel answered him with his silence as he stood there watching the vortex. Hariel gave the signal to drop him by releasing him from the chains which held him under control. During his fall, the first signals of pain started to rise in his whole body. His hairs and eyes blackened, as if the Darkness surrounded him, his wings transformed into the gigantic bat wings, he started to see creepy visions from the near future, visions which he have never ever seen in his life. Fainted from the pain to his whole body, he felt too hard to a part of Hidna Desert, a desert very famous for the demons as the cursed desert, full of gigantic creatures so gigantic that have the size of a titan which could smack you in one hit, and which no soul and no demon have ever seen.
A while later, an unknown and giant hermit approached Kyriel, he watched him and thought of taking him with him. He then crouched, he took him to his shoulders, and after that they walked Hidna for a safe place. The more the days passed, the more the hermit treated him till the day of his awakening from the coma came. Kyriel woke up, opened his eyes with grudge, he moved so slowly, as if he weighted a lot of tons of metals upon him. The moment he tried to stand up, the hermit suggested him “Don’t stand up, Fallen One. Your body has been badly injured from your fall.” Kyriel re-rested back to his place and wondered “Where am I? What’s here?” the hermit with his glare upon him, answered him “You’re at Hidna Desert. This is my home. I cooked something for you to eat. Are you hungry?”. As skeptical as he was, Kyriel decided to eat something to be well. The horrible pain he felt has been gone away, his body started to recover its strength back. “How do you feel, Fallen One?” questioned the hermit, Kyriel questioned back with as he suspected him “Why do you call me Fallen One?”, the hermit answered him calmly “I call you like this, because you felt from “above””. Kyriel as surprised as he was, calmed down and after a while he answered him “Kyriel… Kyriel’s my name. And you are…?”, “Saleem. I’m a Shaman Indian …» he answered him and continued “My body is in Earth, but my soul journeys in the pits of Hell for a mission to save my kin” Kyriel as shocked as he was from the news, questioned him “And what are you doing here in Hellia? Aren’t you afraid of those creatures, Saleem?”, Saleem answered him “I have nothing to be afraid of, if it involves my kin’s rescue. My reason of coming this far here, it’s not wise for me to explain it to you yet. You why did you fall from “above”?”, Kyriel silenced and decided not to explain the reason of his fall. Saleem told him “If you don’t want to tell me the reason, I shall not force you. But if you want to leave, you need to be careful outside, because there are huge monsters, so huge that they touch the sky.” Kyriel stood up and walked to the mirror with grudge. He started as shocked as he was to see his self changed. Saleem gave him a sword by announcing his suggestion “You’ll need it, if you want to walk this desert. I took this sword earlier, but I took another and stronger for my adventure.” Kyriel asked him if he was willing to come with him, but unfortunately, Saleem answered him “Unfortunately, I’m unable to come with you. Where I’m going, you can’t come with me. There’s a town some miles to the north. Go there. You’ll find a place there.” After his announcement, they parted ways in different destinations. Kyriel, after hearing his suggestion, had to move to the north. From this moment Kyriel’s adventures started.
