I recently bought the US download version of Boiling Point: Road to Hell from the Atari store. Upon installing, everything works great until I try to patch with any official patch from the developer or Atari, with the error:
"Cannot locate BOILING POINT (EUROPE), ANY, on your computer." or
"Cannot locate BOILING POINT (USA), ANY, on your computer."
We know that the European version works with the US version, after reading tons of forum posts trying to figure out how to get it to work.. Is there anyone that cracked the case and managed? Any help at all?
This error rings vague bells but I haven't installed this game in years.
First thing I'm wondering is why Atari are selling an un-patched version of the game - maybe it's already patched?
Secondly, the patch was written in the XP days, so perhaps it isn't handling your newer (I presume) version of Windows. Try uninstalling the game and then reinstall it somewhere simple, like C:\BP for example. This might help the patch find it.
