Rampant Games - Are RPGs Too Long?

That's why I like the Chapters concept.
One only plays from chapter to chapter.
In Medieval SIMs there is
1 Ambition -> several quests from which you pick
1 quest -> several sub-tasks from which you pick
1 sub-task -> meanwhile you have to do
2 mandatory tasks within
1 day or you become punished (even the monarch !).

Correction: it's your point, not *the* point. It's your taste and you enjoy things like that. I'm very with you and honor the preference. I don't have the time or the inclination to enjoy things that long anymore. There's nothing that makes or breaks a quality RPG on length alone, just taste and circumstances.
Not a stated preference.
The point here is what brings the urge of finishing games in a short time.
You can answer to it in matter of preferences but the point itself…
