I really liked Stalker, picked up the boxed version when it came out and I had a lot of fun with it.
It's not what I would call an RPG, but it got a really compelling story with a great ending, and a great atmosphere. There are a lot of "trash" quests, but it is a bit like Skyrim, you get more out of the game if you are whiling to immerse yourself a bit.
