Dr. Strange was good. Not as in love with ant man (esp the second one).

I've not seen the second Ant Man flick as of yet, and I suspect I won't like it nearly as much as I did the first one. Another issue I had with the prior movie was the decision to kill off Janet, that was a really dumb idea. Janet had very interesting relationships throughout the Marvel Universe that could have been used spectacularly, but they went a silly way instead. Yeah, it would have taken a bit more work but the product would have been far superior to what was crafted.

Life is one of those movies where the characters do dumb, totally illogical things in order to advance the plot in a completely contrived way but I liked the aggressiveness of the lifeform and the idea that it would frantically try every possible avenue to survive. But it reminded me of an old new Outer Limits episode stretched to 2 hours and with a 30+ million dollar budget.

How Long Will I Love U,which was released on May 18, 2018 in mainland China. The film is a way romantic and fantacy comedy, and the storyline is just about two young men live together in hyper-time incidentally.

I've see a film that has been on my list for a long time. But thanks to the homework I got from the guys at Sardonicast (a great movie discussion podcast featuring YMS, IHE and Ralphthemoviemaker) I finally watched it.
The movie is Punch Drunk Love from the great Paul Thomas Anderson. It's a great little movie, starring Adam Sandler and man, he's great in it. He's obviously a good actor if he wants to and has a great script and director to direct him. I highly recommend the movie.

Get ready for SHARKNADO 6 :"Shark VS T-Rex".
They claim it's the last movie in the franchise.

Jaws the first did it for me as far as shark flicks go. That was an actual movie, not some silly merging of sharks and the weather channel, lol.

Watched a couple of British movies, Locke with Tom Hardy in a one-man performance about a concrete engineer on the eve of Britain's biggest construction project of a single building trying to do the right thing as his job and marriage disintegrates. It was quite excellent and shows you how versatile he can be, and Caliber about two young friends who accidentally kill a little kid while hunting in the woods, then intentionally kill the kid's dad when he points his gun in rage at the hunter who killed his son. It ended unsatisfactory, even melodramatically imo.
Also watched Argo recently, which won a best picture Oscar. Amazingly gripping and good.

Took my daughter to see Christopher Robin.
I was concerned at first, since there are adult themes in it, and she might be bored (she's 6). She was into it the entire time and even declared "I really liked that movie!" when it was over. I enjoyed it myself, and liked the simple messages of what's important in life. If you were ever remotely a Winnie The Pooh fan when you were younger, then I recommend it. It appeals not only to the young kids, but to the grown-up kids too, that might have forget the important lessons we lost in our childhood.

Hereditary 5/10
Well, this started off quite good and I was intrigued. Unfortunately, it dragged on and became something other than what I thought it would be - and not in a good way. Also, some really, really implausible behavior from several of the people involved - and… I don't know.
I'm not sure I know how to enjoy movies anymore. Seems all these ultra hyped movies are getting worse and worse.
Acting was great by most of the cast, though Byrne was a little wasted and the son a little one-note. But Colette was excellent and the daughter delightfully creepy. The "seance" friend was great, too.
But it just didn't work for me and ended up being a dud. Also, I almost never get scared or disturbed anymore. I get uncomfortable or disgusted - which isn't why I watch horror movies.

Maybe I should see this - thought maybe it was a dog from the reviews but perhaps it will be a decent 'feel good' movie.

Check the neighborhood instead. Didn't watch these yet (no time) but I bet both are good if not awsome:
Euthanizer
Heavy Trip
You don't get disturbed? From top of my head, and because we rarely mention movies from Germany, get this one:
Unter Nachbarn
It's not any masterpiece (doesn't end with realistic win) and yes, it could have been better, but that's not the point.

Upgrade 7/10
Surprisingly entertaining - if a little silly - sci-fi flick. It looks great considering the budget, and I like the actor portraying the lead.
Anyway, a neat concept and execution - but not something that will tax your brain too much.
I think it helped that I went in with no expectations.

I hated both leads there: hero and suggested main villain. But adored the sidecast: AI, phobic CEO, hacker and wife. And it taxed my brain.
Still, when it comes to score, I'd also put 7/10 on it. Nothing to (fondly) remember, modern games use mocap and AI there never heard of it, reasoning for offing people is unbelievable, surgically blocking smallbrain away from other brain parts to lock consciencesness away is more logical way than whatever was shown there which puts the movie more into fantasy than in scifi, etc. And generally everything could have been much better.
Good for fun, but you won't get anything from watching this nor lose anything if you skip it.

Meg: was fun watching but after I left and thought about it for a few minutes it was fairly contrived and stupid. I don't regret watching it as it was fun but whatever.

Watched Hereditary. Man, the actress that played the daughter was so ugly I actually thought they were using special latex appliances on her face or were digitally altering it somehow. The movie was okay but these films always seem a variation of Rosemary's Baby but here replace Mia Farrow with Toni Collette running around in terror with her arms flailing about as the secret coven of naked elderly witches dodders around in the background with their joints and asses hanging out and hanging low. It had some offbeat touches that I liked though. But seriously, that daughter was homely! That's the trend now, I think, like the daughter in A Quiet Place - find the homeliest actress you possibly can and cast her in a horror film for extra creep factor.

Just finished a bunch of movies today as I was bored and wary of replying on this forum.
Anyway let me get started.
1.Death Wish Remake- Yes I actually enjoyed watching Bruce Willis in his role despite the paid critics review bombing his movie, and calling the film porn for Alt-right Gun Nuts.
2.Ready Player One - Actually surprised I enjoyed watching this film as it was another cliche ridden dystopian future world with a corporation overlord.
3.Woody Woodpecker -Another film penned negatively by critics but my family all loved the movie. We are also old enough to remember watching the cartoon.
4. Rampage - Didn't except much from a movie based on an 80's Era video game, but hey it has the Rock, and it was a good popcorn time waster.
