Dreamcatcher and Shadowlords, those are the ones I was trying to recall. Really superb series, both.

Haks and such aren't a big deal. Haks go into your hak folder, overrides go into your override folder. Overrides will change things in any game you play, while haks need to be activated by the module. So if you have haks, they won't always be in play, but overrides will be.

So you want the newest CEP http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view…Detail&id=7000
Be sure to get the CEP_v2.exe version so the auto installer takes care of all the file placements.

Get the Hak installer, this will allow you to add the CEP to your main game, which really makes a difference
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view….Detail&id=720
Just follow the instructions it comes with.

Now, for overrides to make the game look better (all go into your Override folder).

Bowstrings http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view….Detail&id=464
Elf head reskins http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view….Detail&id=413
Forest Floor http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view…s.Detail&id=53
Cave Ruins http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view…Detail&id=2238
Coloured spell and feat icons http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view…Detail&id=1020
Hands (replaces the blocky fists) http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view….Detail&id=124

That's a good start. But there's really a hak or override for every occasion!

You know the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views, which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

I've played Dreamcatcher and Shadowlord twice and they're both great modules. The design and storyline are the same quality as any Official Campaign should be (or should have been in NWN1's OC case) and are worth every minute - and there are a lot of minutes in both modules…

The Diablo module is also one of my favourites, with the music, lay-out and characters all converted into the NWN toolset. I was never able to finish it completely, but the first few levels were well worth the download.

If you'd like a more multiplayer oriented module I'd try the Tomb Of Horrors. If you've ever played the original PnP Dungeons & Dragons module you'll know this is going to be tough and only epic-level characters will manage it - of course you're given a chance to level up at the start of the game. The only way to play this game as a single player is to create an epic thief.

As for the many downloads/hakpacks/whatnot/CEP, I usually downloaded and played one module at a time. This kept my NWN folders manageable and I was able to keep track of which files belonged to which module.

The CEP is a massive resource, but I'm not a fan of it simply because I think that with both official expansion packs installed there's plenty of content to work with already. Unfortunately most new modules will probably require you install it anyway. The links that Gallifrey provided above are really good however: little tweaks which make a big difference (especially the Real Hands hak is essential).
