It's pretty impressive looking at least. I'm actually playing through SS1 right now, and I'm going to play SS2 again as soon as I'm finished.

its quite good so far after an hour or so. nice level design its got audio logs with decent (subject to interpretation) voice overs. its not great but surely worth playing if you've played system shock 2 so much you know it by heart even years later.
update:finished the first deck after about 2 hours.
the story has unfolded a bit more and my level of excitement has risen to more than just curiosity. this surely had a lot of effort put into it and some of the voice acting is actually quite enjoyable now. and thankfully unlike system shock 2 you can actually get the recylcer on the first deck which makes it a far more valuable too. ohh if only i had found this sooner.
update2: 3 decks down and i'd sware i've been dreaming that last night system shock 3 landed on my computer and i've gotten the chance to play it. oh wait i'm awake and this excellence is quite real. its probably the most superb fan made work i've played and what's even better is there are two parts more to play after this. this isn't going be as good as bioshock but i bet this is better than whatever system shock 3 ea trying to milk out of its shirvled up sack.

heres a great audio log that is very reminiscent of one of my favourite charcters from system shock 2, head of security--bronson. the image is a random shodan clip and this took entirely too long to make

UPDATE
AWESOME!
the creators of this have manage to link two of my favourite all time gams together. so far all music has been from the original system shock 2 but on the entertainment deck there is a bar/dance area/love sim units (from system shock 2.) the theme music is the awesome track from the nightclub "cold sweat sex machine" on sender station in the game anachronox. (the club where you meet stilleto). if this all sounds crazy it may be, but it still kicks some serious ass.

it was great. i'm so psyched for the other 2 now and bioshock of course. ponterbee station is to system shock 2 what thief 2 was to theif. it really was that good. its about 15 hours long give or take so you really should try it out. i would have payed at least $25 for it. but its free so when you're done playing bioshock check it out or if you're one of the people waiting for bioshock to drop in price and be reviewed thouroughly do yourself a favor and play this now!

Sounds good. I need to finish SS CDROM edition and SS2 with mods first though.

I had a hard time getting into SS2 I'm sorry to say. It was dated by the time I started and didn't grab meat the beginning. I also had the same problem with Deus Ex. I'll take another look at it. The atmosphere has always intrigued me.
Curnded, is there a lot of this kind of dialogue (re: the audio log)? The language is abrasive.
