No demo.
Buy the game, you'll adore it. From an airplane you can see it's totally different from everything EA makes.

One of the reasons you would want lockpicking is so you can more quickly/quietly open locks in a situation where that door's icon is red (ie: would be considered a crime if you got noticed). You don't need to spend much on it though, there's lots of gear with +1 Lockpicking on it and you can just save up a set.

I miss the day/night cycle of U7. Combat in D:OS makes up for it tenfold. I'm predicting that with the editor, there's going to be a U7 remake in D:OS.
