Tidus Theme
Around 6:57. Wow. I dont know man.
I dont know if im feeling sad or happy. Im just feeling. The moment this started i was thrown back years back… I really feel like im going to cry.
Do you have some game OSTs that throw you back and hit you in the feels? Anyone else feels like me that FFX OST is one of the best game OSTs of all time?

Oh goodness…
The soundtrack to Guild Wars always hits me in the feels and sometimes makes me cry, and that's partly from the soundtrack itself, and partly since I know there's a real possibility there might come a day when the game won't be around anymore. It's awfully bittersweet.

Despite the username and avatar I've always used on videogame sites, I don't really consider myself a fan of the Fire Emblem series anymore — I haven't played any of the games since the days when SNES emulation was a thing.
But this version of the series NPC recruitment theme, "Together We Ride", is pretty great, and for the FF fans posting above, you may want to check out the same guy's covers of the tunes from that series.

Gothic 3 soundtrack is just one of my all time favourites. Here is a track called: Trellis liberate. It always brings me back to the game and beyond
Morrowind main theme. I just want to go adventuring when I hear this

All three ES themes work out great. Morrowind sounds like Morrowind should, Oblivion sounds like something the capital of an empire would write, and Skyrim is about as Norse as it gets.

Final Fantasy 7 music … I guess that hits me in the "feels."
Oh, and strategy games can pull off great music, too!

And my old favorites, Alternate Reality

When I was a little kid, the moment I popped Final Fantasy II (I know it's technically Final Fantasy IV, but I had no idea about that back then) in my SNES on Christmas morning, my little mind was completely blown by the title theme (especially at the 39 second mark):
Yeah, we were easily impressed back then I guess (at least I was).

Well, I don't think it is about being easily impressed at all, those FF themes are being played in concert halls around the globe. Which says something about how good they were ( are

We had an interesting thread around here with lots of game music. I'll try to look it up.

Beyond Gothic 3, there are certain theme songs here and there that I like. The original Command & Conquer had several nice tracks. In fact, most C&C and Red Alert games had decent soundtracks. Baldur's Gate 2 had some nice ones as well, as did Planescape: Torment.

The soundtrack of Age of Wonders. The entire series has a fantastic soundtrack in my opinion.

Anyway, while I've criticized Jeremy Soule in the past for making very similar music for many different games (don't get me wrong, what he does tends to be very good, but a lot of it feels interchangeable, which results in many games lacking their own identity when it comes to their soundtrack), I think this piece is very good:

(Most of the other GW songs might as well have been in Morrowind, they sound very similar to the songs found in the Morrowind soundtrack)

I am musically challenged, in that I don't care about the music in games at all. Is that weird?

Ah Guild Wars. How I wish they had not abandoned it when they moved development to GW2 entirely.

Some games have had real problems with short play lists of late. Tropico drove me nuts with that. A dozen 3-minute songs getting played over and over through 40+ hours gets pretty harsh no matter how great the music is.
October 27th, 2014, 14:38
In a game like Skyrim, Fallout 3, and FNV, I'm so thankful for mods like GNR or ConelRad etc. I'm not sure why a hundred hour game has a 30 minute soundtrack, but the modders came to the rescue in a big way in the Fallout games.
