I'm going on about Dragon's Dogma, because I would like other developers to take after the best aspects of the game. Instead, it seems Capcom takes after the worst… F2P MMO with microtransactions. I'm not touching this on principle.

Any ideas if a PC or PS4 port is incoming? based on what you guys said I really want to give it go but I don't have Xbox360 or PS3

However, I don't care all that much about combat. I play mostly for exploration and immersion, and the game delivers in spades. There are moments of tension, excitement and wonder such as I haven't experienced since Ultima Underworld. Setting off into unknown territory really feels like an adventure. And the darkness is dark in this game. You really need the lantern to see where you are going.
When I played, I found myself approaching exploration more like planning expeditions into the unknown. I was looking at distances, how far I could go during the day, setting out early in the morning and trying to get there before nightfall, cause the game gets considerably harder (and darker) during the night. You might be jumped by a group of nightly beasts and die, or you may end up defeating them and then feel a genuine sense of achievement when you make it to your destination. It's just really cool and I wish more games would handle exploration like this.

Another reason Dragon's Dogma is one of the best games ever.

Might try it next, after I finish the Witcher 2 again on the other path.

It was originally released in 2012, so I think a PC release is highly unlikely at this point.

Is this game pretty easy to pick up and put down or will it require more time and commitment.
I'd like to give it a go but right now my schedule will require I take extended breaks of a week or 2 at a time.
I don't want to start it if it's something I'll feel lost in after a long break and end up starting over.

The first 3 hours have been quite enjoyable and I look forward to finding out more about how the game works. Much better first impression than DAI.
My only negatives would be that it doesn't have a lock on feature like dark souls which makes controlling it a bit harder and now it's going to be harder to go to work.

This may be the first console game I finish since the NES, but I won't get to ahead of myself it's still early in the game and I have to play the whole thing with a controller. Which I'm sure most of you know is not my thing.
Definitely makes me interested in the PC version even if I'm not keen on F2P.

I'd encourage you to at least finish the main story. The end story reveals are so worth it.

All this talk made me go back and play some Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. My 220 hour game still doesn't have a full set of Oblivion Armor. So I went back to dungeon delving. This game is seriously the best ever. The Dark Arisen dungeon may be my favorite dungeon of all time. Diablo-like loot creates an addictive quality. The combat in the dungeon is off the charts. Even at max level the challenge is very real.
Guys, did I mention I think DD Dark Arisen may in fact be the greatest video game ever made?

Also, SAVE OFTEN. Press Start, pick Save/Quit, and Save and Continue. Do this before dangerous places. OFTEN.

Too bad about there not being a PC version. It looks good to me, too.
