I do like the guard over a wooden (or brick) tower idea better than our own steel frame radio tower. Too bad you can't show it. I am surprised that Larian would send you something with questionable IP.

We haven't had a problem with colors being too complex AFAIK

Reuse is important

I too like the image of someone looking out from a tower.

I say don't skimp on a simplified iconic piece for the web. Let it be detailed.

Either a medieval, post-apocalyptic, or futuristic theme would be nice.

Someone(s) peering from a tower and seeing a horde of screaming barbarians charging with weapons in hand would be most excellent.

That screaming horde are the people that don't like our articles, and other codexers.

Anything that doesn't involve an eye would be good.

I will echo what others said: I like the idea. I'm curious now to see it, so maybe you should check with them whether you're allowed to show us.

I'd say it should be art, and not just a simplified logo, and it should have our name in it. But maybe try to keep the colors to a minimum. Other than that, let them have a stab at it, I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Well, it really is a preliminary thing they made and I don't want the discussion to be about what they made to be honest (nor do they).
I provided them with some feedback from a technical perspective (size, place for the ads banner, etc.) and given them the link to this thread, so they can read what is being posted and wait on their next attempt, which I probably can share.

That is the way RPGWatch is. The logo should represent that.

Kudos to Crispy! And Myrthos. I really liked the maintenance page.

Really like Hidden's banners. Especially the light one. Would love to see it as a header for the page instead of the firewatch tower.
