This may have been from an earlier patch but I can't find anything about it in the manual. What is the significance of changes in the mouse pointer when I mouse over something I can interact with (i.e. chests , containers, tabletops, etc)?
When lock picking is required a padlock appears, that makes sense. Other times the gauntlet turns red or turns into a little arrow with a mask next to it. What do those mean?

That is actually the tactic. The Dragon must not use her breath. Because if she does, you are dead.
I dont know how it is like on other difficulties but on PoTD about 4 of your guys instantly die if she does. So the trick is to not let her. Keep her basically stunlocked. If there is a little gap between one stun and the next (maybe half a second or so) that is probably not enough for her to cast it. Keep her busy with stuns, even if it's just 2-3 seconds per stun, everything helps.
What you absolutely need though is someone who can do big damage. My rogue does an excellent job there. It might be hard to do similar damage with an other class.

I think it's great that they adjusted petrification and other 'cheese' spells, but I also think they should tone down the endless dungeon boss encounter, as it took me like 3 days of like 7 attempts each day with different tactics (on hard) until I finally beat it.

Hats off than! As for the other classes… I fought her before patch 1.5 but Aloth's Blast of Frost and druid's Blizzard, Overwhelming Wave and Hail Storm worked nicely!

I bet her yesterday, so with 1.05 on normal with my Chanter, Edér, Pallegina, Aloth, Sagani and Grieving Mother on level 12. On my first 2 tries I didn't stand a chance due to her breath attack.
Then I used stuns, petrification and stuff, so she couldn't use it. It still was a long fight.
