The cartoon style worked very well for Borderlands, Curse of Monkey Island, Broken Sword, Kings Quest 7, Runaway series, XIII, Valkyria Chronicles, Prince of Persia, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Venetica, Planet Stronghold, The Wolf Among Us, Grim Fandango, Transistor, Gabriel Knight series etc. . Why not in this game? Gfx are overrated.

I'm sorry, but I'm not good at not seeing what I see.

Cartoon graphics turn me off.

It's not rocket science and it's not a personal choice.

I don't know, for me graphics are a minor inconvenience.
FTL for example has very blocky graphics, yet I had fun with it.

I play several older type games and I usually don't mind enough when the gameplay is fun.

For example, Telepath Tactics looks like fun, but the GFX look bad to me. I still am leaning towards getting it.

On the other hand, all this talk about the Witcher 3's graphics downgrade is a complete non-issue for me. The Witcher 1 still looks great to me. Even Gothic 1 still does.

So, yeah. That's why I said you should maybe look past it.

The art is really striking. As you must know, having such an arresting and different look will catch a lot more people's attention than it will turn off the super-old-school (RPGWatch is the Land of Super Old School).

My one note — the camera. The jerky way it rotates around the ship gives a less underwater-y feeling to the footage. It'd be nice to have the camera respond in a more fluid way.

I haven't played Freelancer and I don't know much about it, but you talk about the development of individual character skills which sounds like the game has at least some RPGish aspects. Beautiful as it is, what's going to make this game fun to play for a fan of tactical RPGs?

This is a good point. I also felt the camera should be slowed down or the sub turns too quickly. Wasn't sure which it was.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Yeah the camera, still needs some polish, for sure. We're also adding the option to change the orientation (left, right, centered) and zoom level. Some of the jerkiness also comes from us being not so great at capturing / editing footage. We do all our trailer stuff in-house atm and while we have some video editing experience, we're by no means experts.

I hate to break it to you, but we're not the same person It's not easy turning into someone else you know.

But I'm not talking about quality, I'm talking about style. Some of us are conscious of what we enjoy and why we enjoy it, which means there are things we don't enjoy. I'm sure you don't enjoy everything the planet?

Think about something you don't enjoy and then think about your response to being told that you can enjoy it if you just ignore your tastes. Should make it all clear.

It can be, but sometimes I think it's helpful to just accept that some people don't enjoy what you enjoy
