Any info on a possible Might&Magic XI?

Anyone heard anything about it?
I think M&M X was pretty great so I hope Limbic is allowed to do another one.

After MMX Ubisoft had no plans to continue the series.
Jon Van Caneghem is making phone games.

Too bad.
In that case I hope that MMX gets released on GOG eventually so I can get rid of uplay forever.

Well at least at release the Dev Team of MMX said that they hope to bring life back to the series, not just into one installment.
I haven't seen any comments about that since then.
It will depend on how well MMX sells, but I think it's safe to say that both the M&M team at Ubisoft and at Limbic Entertainment hope MMX is only the beginning of a new eraSource: http://reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1w…just_released/
It's too soon for promises and declarations of intent, but if we do a MM11 we'd certainly like to make it a bit more ambitious
about the barks, I discovered while writing them how difficult it wasAlso some lines that work on paper might not work that well depending on the voice actor, etc. But I've clearly learned a lot and I'll definitely write better barks if we do MM11.
I haven't seen any comments about that since then.

Keep in mind that Limbic was brought on via some sort of special program that Ubi has that deals with small development houses. Limbic was pretty far along with MMX before Ubi allowed the curtain to be raised. I wouldn't automatically take silence as a negative in this case. My understanding was that MMX exceeded sales projections but didn't set the world on fire (being stuck with UPlay and being under the much-reviled Ubisoft umbrella probably didn't help). Don't know if that was sufficient financial justification for MM11 or not.

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.

I totally agree with you about story, but the exploration was not all that bad in my opinion.
It just wasn't quite good enough, in my opinion.
One other issue I have with the game, which is the same problem I have with the recent Might and Magic Heroes games, is that these games have lost the OWC charm.
To me, quite a large part of the appeal of the old Might and Magic games was the charming fairy tale atmosphere, music and visual style.
But given how popular MMX seems to be around here, I guess most of you don't really care much about that .

My hope if they do make MM XI is that they switch to Unreal Engine 4, improve the faity tale charm and visual style, have a story and memorable characters this time around + like you said more rewarding exploration. But perhaps we'll never see a MM XI.

Haven't played it yet, but it's high on my list. I would love to see many more games like this made. I wouldn't mind an open-world, free movement game like Might & Magic VI, though. It's the only M&M game I've really played but I adored the exploration, dungeon-crawling, free movement, etc., and I still think the combat system married to the first-person perspective and free movement is the best combination of systems for combat I've played yet.

MMX was the first Might and Magic I played, so I can't compare it to the science fantasy style of the earlier games.
I thought it was a well-realized little game, obviously not breaking much new ground in terms of story, but the traditionalist feel was fine by me.
I think the game's failure was more just a failure to stand out in the marketplace rather than anything intrinsic to itself.
