Not like Skyrim

Can't games be different without one being better than the other?

Personally, I think Skyrim and Witcher 3 are very different games - even if they share many similarities.
I'm not sure which I like the most, but I know I'm very happy they both exist and I count them among the best games of all time.
That's worth something

I like Skyrim more than Witcher 3, but I like Witcher 3 a lot. It's like anything else though, there is only one favorite. Skyrim is still my favorite game, but I don't want to play it exclusively. I can't do that and keep my "player" cred

No offense to Skyrim lovers, but I'd rather play Russian roulette than go through it again.
I will never, for the love of god, understand the popularity of that game.

I don't really have a problem with the minimap - and there's no way to make detective mode do what I want it to do, anyway. I don't enjoy opening the map constantly - and I suck at finding my way around, especially since there's no compass. So, the minimap is really a must for me.

I was just thinking you know what else isn't like Skyrim? Ham sandwiches.

Sometimes when I am having a ham sandwich I wonder why it isn't more like Skyrim.
It isn't full of bugs unless you are at the beach and bugs are around.
You can't modify it. Though could be on a bun or toasted. Maybe add a slice oftomato or cheese.
I mean it doesn't have a meaningless main quest unless you are trying to find a subway to make it for you. Though that would have to go under mods to because that is more of a sub than a sandwich.
So maybe I was wrong and everything is like Skyrim just not as good as Skyrim

CelticFrost could be arrested for inhuman cruelty for that suggestion.

I should have been arrested for giving it a second chance not to long ago.

Why here too.
There are dozens of articles and steam crybaby threads that are trying to compare TW3 with Skyrim.
It's plain impossible!
Skyrim is openworld bug-o-rama sandbox with (almost) no story that evolves around endless trashmob respawns although it's The Elder Scrolls 5.
While elder scrolls mean nothing in Skyrim and you don't have to find any of those scrolls, The Witcher 3 is all about a certain witcher, witchers and story. It's not sandbox, and what's more important mobs don't scale with levels, only shops do (at least should, dunno if they fixed it).
There are even more differences, but basically, we're talking about two completely different RPG types here. IMO, if there is an openworld RPG TW3 could (and should) be compared with, it's Gothic 2 and 3.

No you don't.
The main quest or what should be a main quest is bugged and Bethesda never patched it (unopenable door). You don't have to find anything nor you have to do the main story at all, it won't change the game in any way, you'll still see the annoying dragon respawned for the xth time mages guild.
I did play Skyrim and finished everything that's finishable, to pass through two bugged instances in the main quest I had to use the console commands from skyrim wiki.
Dawnguard introduced the second elder scroll written by a vampire (which is IMO a huge plot hole or I didn't get something right there) but it's a pathetic DLC.
