All things being equal I'd prefer the fewer deeper side quests of witcher 3 over the more numerous but shallow dungeon "stories" of Skyrim. Having both would be great though.

Aren't those contracts/treasure hunts the "shallower" stories, though? I haven't done many of them, so I'm not sure if they are very deep.

Like with your first short stroll in Novigrad you seems to have a tendency to form opinions without necessary info to back it up…

Nowhere have I said, "This game sucks because in my experience so far I haven't run into anything interesting in Novigrad!"

I don't always follow that rule myself, but I know from experience that it's THE best way to enjoy a game.
In fact, the less you know about a game - the more potential for being pleasantly surprised - and if there's a game that deserves such an approach, it has to be this one.

It's actually a compliment to how good the game is when it stays in my head. I want to read about it and talk about it. And I think that's what happens to me with games that leave an impression, tread some new ground for me or that otherwise offer a somewhat fresh experience: I need some outlet to process what I'm seeing and writing up impressions and opinions is a good way. That, or too many linear console games have fried my brains and I can't deal with freedom and choice anymore.
