But it happens time and time again. Most of the creative souls are not very good at successfully releasing their games and most of those who are good aren't creative…

I gotta get this game, just because of how hilariously broken it is.

Besides, CDPR TRIES to be a bit different. Since potions self refill, you don't need to do much flower-picking and you can also get a lot of the crafting materials from the dismantling of drops/finds.
But, once again, what would you propose to revolutionize the system?
I seem to have fallen into the same trap as the reviewer by focusing on some things that mildly irritate me when overall I love TW3. I agree that TW3 does things better and a bit differently.

One thing that would address my mild irritation - auto-collect of nearby herbs/crafting supplies/loot, including when on horseback. I think there was a mod for Oblivion that did this? Yes, it breaks immersion a bit. I don't care about that, the immersion for me comes from the combat and the story, not from being forced to play through a rigorous simulation of real life. If you love to root through every container/plant yourself (triggering the incredibly ill-considered "I am bending down to pick the flower now" animation in DA:I), this could be a configurable option.

I didn't mean to sound harsh ST. Problem is that it's right down impossible for a game to please all. On the one side we have the "realism" crowd who think (among other things) that game characters should be penalized if they don't eat and sleep and other other the "fun"group who just want to enjoy themselves with a minimum of fuss.

A big missed opportunity in W3 is having hand placed interesting, UNMARKED ON YOUR MAP, things out in the enormous wilderness.

I haven't found any other than a few items. But nothing that leads to a story or intrigue. Everything like that is marked.

Unless I missed stuff? Anyone?

I talked about wooden statues mystery. Hardly anyone found those as are not marked with ? no matter what you turn on or off on UI, and noone still knows what are those about.

I turned off the POI markers on the map, and consequently it seems like I stumble into cool stuff all the time. Find the game to be much more enjoyable that way. That is to say, until I stopped a couple of weeks ago because of all the bugs I encountered …where is that patch already?!

Crash upon fast travel (out of Skellige) is the main one that caused me to quite. Few other miscellaneous ones that in itself were not that dramatic but stacked up with the previous one, I decided to hold my play for a while: mutagens not working, quest objects I cannot interact with, quests failing or reappearing in journal after being finished, some NPCs I cannot interact with (smith in Kaer Trolde is the first that comes to mind), etc.

So I decided to wait a bit, just didn't think it would take this long.

Verify game files.

Not sure about that one, there was a problem with combining mutagens but it's either sorted or you could use a workaround.

I've read in patch changelog 1.07 about these in few quests, so if the patch is not yet out, those will be sorted with it. While I never had the problem in my game, obviously those can happen as are mentioned in the changelog.

I think patch 1.05 or patch 1.06 introduced that bug with several quests by trying to solve just one quest with that problem. But it's IMO pretty irrelevant thing, you still get XP.

Actually you can. Meditate an hour, he'll sit down, then you can talk to him.
Anyone else?

Did that, everything was fine. Tried all the other suggestions on the official forum too. No dice.

Yeah least of the problems tbh, just annoying.

Already a good reason in itself to wait then.

Not for the ones that fail. Not concerned about XP btw, there's not really any shortage of it.

Nope, meditate and he disappears completely.

I'm not all that worked up about it, it's a big game, so some stuff is bound to go wrong. It's just taking them an awful long time to release this patch, is all.

Eh…cut them a little slack, this is one of the biggest single player games in recent history and the game hasn't been out long yet.
Remember how long it took Bethesda to release an UI/Inventory overhaul for Skyrim?

Not before friday afternoon CET! Have a situation at work and can't do anything but rest while home.

If the patch doesn't appear till then, pack up your latest savegame and pass it to me.
Basically zip it and upload on box.com.

What about those vandalized shrines? In White Orchard, you run into a lady who has you fixing a destroyed shrine and says that more have been destroyed. I've not found any more. Are they just in White Orchard?

Iirc, there are a total of 3. I'm pretty sure that's in Velen though, not White Orchard.

It's definetly in Velen.
If you, after getting the quest, don't find other shrines but just mobs responsible for destroying them, it'll still make the quest successfully finished. But you'll skip (small) XP that you'd get for finding all three broken shrines.

The strategy of not skipping any of these unmarked things on the map?
Explore all roads (pass through them at least once) and ruins you see on the world map.

I have also read somewhere that even some of the "local flavour" notices from noticeboards also spawn question marks on the maps. I have no idea if it's true or not but I will test is during my next playthrough.

Thanks! But I'll be away myself for a while in couple of days, so won't be able to play anyhow. Will see what state my game is in when I return

You know? I've suspected this, but I'm not sure because usually I click through those fast and don't really know what I'm doing.
