To Ash - A Hero in Decline
December 4th, 2015, 21:57
Eye spotted on The Next Web, an article about a game named To Ash, where your hero does not grwo stronger, but weaker. This, to teach people about the acceptance of mortality.
More information.
Kyle Ballentine is a behavioral therapist from California who’s just made a role-playing game for Windows and Mac called ‘To Ash.’The article is based on this Polygon article.
Traditionally, the protagonists in games gain strength and power as you progress. ‘To Ash’ is a little different though; the main character starts out strong and loses his power and agility as time passes.
Why? Because Ballentine wanted to create a game with a very specific purpose – to teach people about the acceptance of mortality.

A brilliant concept really I'd like to see it employed on a more larger scale project
