Ronnie Corbett dies aged 85
April 1st, 2016, 16:30
For those of you from the UK, no introductions are needed, please feel free to skip to the awesome vids.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this legend of UK comedy, he was one of the original Frost Report team, the groundbreaking 1960s UK tv show which formed the breeding ground for most of the cream of UK comedy for the next 30 years, most notable of which to internationals was the Monty Python team and David Frost vs President Nixon.
First scetch only, Corbett is the small guy on the far right (low sound quality), Ronnie Barker in the middle, John Cleese on the far left:
Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett went on to form a comedy partnership team of their own, providing a more primetime, but slightly less anarchic comedy to Monty Python. Though popular throughout the 1970s, they were dwarfed by both Monty Python internationally and by Morcambe and Wise at home. Eric Morcambe died unexpectedly in 1984 and it was 1983 when Monty Python made their last movie, leaving the Two Ronnies suddenly the undisputed kings of british comedy for the rest of the decade.
Their most famous sketch is probably four candles:
A wonderfully fitting sketch for April Fools day, and if ever a true comedian could pick their day of tribute, I'm sure Corbett would have requested April 1st!

Loved their stuff back in the day; always extremely funny without being offensive. I wish the Yanks could learn how to do that!!
