I use my dining room as computer station, since I'm single I can get away with this ='.'=

It's actually the best area Ive had to game in yet. The tile floor is static free and great for rolling, I have a light and ceiling fan above if I need it, and I can roll backwards right to my fridge if I need a drink or something. If I'm not drinking coffee (as you can see in the pic), I have a McD's right across the street and while I very rarely eat fast food - I love their coffee!
I'll throw on the hall light or the kitchen light behind me for the right amount of light to keep from getting a headache, while having the monitor still kinda in a dim area. I dont really use the second monitor that much, it's mainly there for when I'm doing work at home and have autocad or website coding or something going on.
You can see one of my tacky votive candles there in the hallway, I love those things. While not religious, I do like catholic imagery, and have all kinds of cool archangels and Marys and such votives around the place that I fire up.

Having one's computer set-up in a central location in the house is really great. That's one of the things that totally sold me on the house we bought, the office is on the main floor off the dining room, so it's right in the middle of the main living area but is it's own contained space (with built-in glass-doored bookshelves, which was another huge selling feature).
The last place we were in had the office upstairs, in the second bedroom, so it was cut off from the rest of the house and that wasn't too great.
Good lighting is so important, and you've got that worked out very nicely Sam. I've got one of those paper covered floor lamps behind my desk, and there's a window beside, so the lighting is perfect. The desk lamp is handy too if I need some light but not a lot (for playing dark environment games, like Thief or something).

You know the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views, which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

Uh oh. Looks like Gallifrey's got a bit of competition from Sammy in the style category. Straighten your station up a bit, Sammy, and you'll be in the running.
Of course, you do lose points for the Mickey D's coffee. Don't you have Peet's down there in San Diego?

Is that Dorothy Lamour, Sammy, or some other sultry '40's siren? She has kind of a kittenish face.

that's Barbara Stanwyck in her role as the nightclub performer/ gangster moll, "Sugarpuss O'Shea".

Of course it is. I remember her more in the big shoulder-padded, severe hairdo'd no nonsense bossy secretary type role, I guess. Nice set-up, regardless. Someday when I grow up I'm going to get one of those new-fangled dig-it-all cameras and post mine.

Here's my desk setup. I have a homebuilt PC as my gaming computer and my old Voodoo as my "garbage in, garbage out" computer for web surfing, MP3 and pic storage, etc.

I am so glad Dte posted his setup!!! otherwise I'd feel too bad at how messy mine is!!!!

Funny thing is that I'm actually an organization freak. For some reason, my computer corner is the exception to the rule.

And Eliaures, that is a swanky set-up there! I love the colour, shape and scale co-ordination.

Hmmm… I'm on the fence… should Eliaures be in the running for "Most Stylish Desktop Setup"? His is impressive, no doubt. But something about it says "function over form" to me…

Thanks folks.
What you're missing is the geek factor in the background that I couldn't get in. I have 4 IKEA Billy book cases with my graphic novels, CD's, game jewel cases, and my collection of anime statues.
Yup, definitely function over form. This is a conglomeration of stuff over several years. Course most computers and their peripherals come in black, so when I went with that U-shaped desk, I was kinda stuck with "Star Wars Empire" colors.
If I can find a neon green chair when this one wears out, I'll think about replacing it with one. I doubt I'm going to have much opportunity to do so, since this one has a lifetime warranty and I already placed the back when it started fraying for free.

Sugoi!!
And so clean.. Anything from Sandman? Incidentally I finished the series only recently and liked it a lot (how couldn't I). Your avatar seemed very familiar too.
